No wonder it's a world heritage site. Old Japanese houses just take you to the ancient days. People still live there and I appreciate them for allowing thousands of tourists to visit every day.

One of UNESCO world Herritage in Japan. I like this place since I can see historical and original traditional house of Japan. The people there are nice and hard working. They make the village nice and clean. I visited one of the oldest house and had a chance to taste tea made from grass and cooked traditionally 👍
Espesially in winter, the view amaze me 😍 I visited on Feb'17 and using local tours.

One of the most beautiful place I have ever visited! it is one of the UNESCO sites in Japan.. very very unique looking little village which looks very gorgeous from hill top, especially during winter night.. villagers are very friendly, old and young.. definitely will visit Shirakawa-go again in the future!

Really unique little village! This is a UNESCO heritage site. The traditional houses with thatch roofs are postcard-worthy. If you want to see what the interior of one of these houses looks like, visit the Wada House (the admission fee is 300 per adult).

This is a place that will be beautiful in every season. It's not very accessible (driving or taking a coach are the only ways to get here) but it's definitely worth the journey.

The most picturesque place I've ever had the chance to visit. Imagine a mountain town that looks like something out of The Last Samurai, or a Ghibli film. Hospitable locals, town-wide free WiFi and more photo opportunities than you can imagine.

Beautiful scenery. You can get here from takayama bus station. You should book the ticket in advance as it is usually fully booked.

Really lot of tourists every day. Not that big but lovely old houses. I guess the best season to visit would really be in Winter.

Lovely little village, with great history. It provided us a nice getaway from the bigger cities, it rained when we were there but it somehow added to the beauty around. The onsen along the main road is also recommended.

Beautiful spot in the mountains, UNESCO world heritage site, but be aware that it can get cold in the mountains, and if there is Sakura in Tokyo, here you'll still find snow. Many of the eating places were not open when we were there, but I guess we were out of season. It is very touristy and the shops do not seem to have the same niceness as most other places in Japan.
