  南參道與北參道會合處的大鳥居(第二鳥居)，是日本最大的木造明神式鳥居，第一代為1920年日本時代台灣總督府獻木的阿里山1200年檜木，1966年因落雷擊毀損壞(後移至埼玉大宮冰川神社)，為了重建，材木商川島康資四處尋找建材，在台灣丹大山尋獲1500年巨木，後由日本與台灣各方人士協力從山中運到台中、基隆、東京灣，1975年12月23日第二代鳥居完工，也就是現在各位眼前的鳥居。
