A very comfortable ryokan in Matsue city center (5 minutes from Matsue jo by car). Fantastic dinner set with generous servings of various seafood. Highly recommend

Great ryokan and they made me amazing vegetarian dinner and breakfast (I emailed in advance, through Japanican). Lovely roof top onsen too!

Excellent ryokan. This is a modern, very comfortable place to stay. I opted for a tatami room with beds and the mattress was excellent. I can be picky about that and most futons are too thin/hard for a side sleeper.
The onsen and rotenburo have a good view of the river and very enjoyable. I tried then in early morn and late night. The outdoor rotenburo is a bit small.
Staff were friendly and helpful. I wish I had tried the food as it smelled good.

初めて泊まった宿だが、風呂が温すぎる、料理は板長の創作料理でしょうね良かった。刺身良かったです。

Wonderful ryokan in Matsue and highly recommended. The staff have little english but as long as you know some basic japanese you'll be fine. They are very friendly, accomodating, and nice regardless of your skills. The ryokan really should be 3 stars as its very very nice inside. Views of the lake are great as well. Please remember the public bath as if you're not familiar with the concept it may be a little interesting, but just go for it. Nothing at all to be concerned about no matter who you are.
Again, lovely staff, lovely rooms and decor, and highly recommended.response / report this review -

位於宍道湖不遠處，2016/7/15才剛局部改裝完成，老派典雅中透著簡約時尚。雖然不過是20個房間的平價小小旅館，服務完全不馬虎。晚上走入旅館，和服女將和女服務生列隊迎客，早餐的麥味增烤鰆魚好吃得亂七八糟。房內甜點奉上的是泥鰍舞者饅頭，有趣好吃。浴場小巧可愛，還有可眺望宍道湖的露天溫泉。值得一記。
