We had two great stays at this hotel. The staff are really nice and helpful- they helped us with some bookings and also recommended a couple of local places off the beaten track (which probably ended up being my favourites whilst in Japan). Amazing service, impeccably clean and comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend staying here to anybody.

Superlative Ryokan. The unassuming exterior and the eclectic lobby betray rooms that exude traditional charm and warmth. We stayed in the deluxe panoramic room, which had views as spectacular as promised and the largest in room bath I had ever seen - can comfortably fit two people. Everything was clean and well maintained to a notable degree. Only had breakfast, but the Japanese breakfast provided an excellent selection. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Nara, possibly even for two nights just to enjoy the Ryokan itself.

Second time staying. Good position, traditional bed styles and food. Onsen is very good also. Come off season for a better room rate.

Nice ryokan hotel with indoors onsen. The facility is very clean and the room is spacious. There is no closet space for those who care for it. The staff is very welcoming but through out my stay I felt rushed. To start off, check-in time is 4 pm and check out time is 10 am. Breakfast needs to scheduled in advance for a certain time and since there are no beds in the room, one must wait for 7-9 pm for turndown service. It is just too many intercept points over a short period that makes a one night stay to elaborate for a person on holiday. Lastly, though the wifi connection is fast, the signal was very weak in the room and kept dropping often.

The place was awesome. The stuff is very welcoming and always willing to help. They made sure that the room was ready while we were at dinner. The dinner was incredible and with lots of details reminding us the season (seasonal vegetables, fruits, decorations). Also the public bath was big and full of amenities. I'd definitely recommend staying here and also having dinner here. Totally worth it!

The meals here is fantastic especially tonight's ShabuShabu. I cannot say how good it is. The beef was so tender and full of taste. It is good to return in the future.

This hotel is all about the food. Serious quality traditional Japanese food in many courses, including cook your own at the table. Breakfast and dinner included within room price.
The room was small and not particularly comfortable. Great location though.response / report this review
