Tokyo Narita airport is great and easy to navigate because there is English written everywhere. I fly jetstar to Japan, from Australia so I always fly into terminal 3 and everything is easy. Terminal 3 has a Lawson convenience store where you can buy heaps of cheap snack foods and a bottle of water for 100 yen. Such a bargain compared to airport prices in Australia. As I also fly onto Hokkaido, I need to spend the night at Narita . There is a designated long stay area called the north waiting area which is brilliant and allows you to sleep in a quiet area away from the constant PA calls in the terminal. You need to walk out of terminal 3 towards terminal 2 to find it but there are sign boards on your left as follow the red running tracks on the ground. Police officers do regular patrols through here and a security guard watches over everyone later in the night. An amazing setup that makes me as a woman travelling alone, feel very safe.

this airport provided us with decent enough service when we had a layover flight when we went on a trip to china. some of the employees there could speak a little bit of English, so that was very helpful. and the restrooms are very easy to use and a little bit clean.

Our travel to here via Limousine Bus was definitely heart racing, as we don't know if we'll be on time for the check in, luckily, we were. And it was busy as we were a group tour, we got a shortcut for the check in counter. And emptied the remaining balance of our ICOCA card for the last minute shopping of chocolates.
It definitely is a large airport, though it was sad to say that we haven't been able to roam around as we just got there on time for the check-in, bought few more chocolates and souveniers, then in few minutes later we were boarding our plane.
We traveled through Philippine Airlines, and I got to say, our definitely worth it, as we enjoyed the flight.
Thumbs up to Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo)!. 👍

Great airport. There are lots of seats where you can lie down to sleep, so it would be great for those that have long transit times. The airport is really clean, efficient, and great looking.
The staff are really friendly, professional, and fashionable. Most of them speak really good English. The security transfer is also efficient and quick. The toilets are really great, clean and also with water spray, with digital control.
The only downside is that it took long time to go anywhere. It takes 15 minutes to go to another section of the airport, and the food selection on the terminal satellites is not good, with usually only 1-2 restaurants. The main building offer quite a selection, but it takes long time to go to the main building.response / report this review -

Airport security staffs were incredibly professional, thorough, yet extremely polite. Felt really welcomed. And when I was there, they had some Japanese arts and craft activity in the main waiting hall, was really happy to learn some new things about traditional Japanese paintings. Washrooms were very clean. Great airport!

It is huge, yet easy to navigate in the worst case you can talk to any staff and you will get a proper guidance.
Lots of place with food, clothes and souvenirs in any Terminal.

Seriously, I have no clue why the authority would build an airport so far from central Tokyo except for security reason maybe? Nonetheless, getting here via Narita Express is fairly convenient and unaffected by traffic condition but you do pay more compared to getting here by airport express bus or normal railway (need to switch between lines).
Based on my one-off experience departing from this airport in the late afternoon, the queue at the luggage check-in and security check can be quite long so if you wish to do some last minute shopping at the departure lounge, do try to arrive at the airport early.response / report this review -

That's the only bad thing in this airport, reading that you're leaving Japan. Jokes apart this airport has plenty of shops and restaurants where you can find almost everything you may need before departure in a reasonable price. Plus staff is always kind and prepared in every circumstances or languages and overall everything is spotless. Highly recommended!

Excellent. Great lesson for other international airports: security staff can smile and be helpful. Cannot be faulted. Discovered after immigration I'd left behind something in security area. Quickly and attentively resolved by staff. Love Japan.

Arrived here for the first time coming to Japan. They provide English language for all the facilities so you won't be confused or lost here, but if you do, the staff are speaking English as well so you could simply ask them anything. Even though the estimated waiting time for immigration counter is stated for about 50 minutes (or an hour? I forgot to take picture), the staffs work fast so it takes less than what they stated, which is a good thing.
But if you take train to go to your desired location, you could be confused if you're not familiar with the system. When I arrived there, the staff in ticket counter couldn't speak English but he tried his best to explain to me when and where should I take the train from. He showed the fare with his calculator. At the station platforms, it could be hard to find any staff to ask to.response / report this review
