Worth a visit since theres not much to do around Kyoto Station aside from shopping. Nice photo op and free binoculaurs to get a better viewing experience. Don't expect to spend more than 20 mins at the top though

Went with daughter during the night. Interesting to have a mini shrine at the observation floor. The night was nice.

Good to orientate yourself and see Kyoto from above. The binoculars are free too, which is good. The views aren't spectacular though, so don't expect too much.

Absolutely beautiful, especially during the sunset. I highly recommend viewing Kyoto this way. It's the only sight that rivals the view from Inari. However, beware of you are prone to motion sickness. This tower has a larger sway than Tokyo Tower in my opinion, so I came off feeling pretty green in the face.

This tower is very short, only 100 meters. It's also tiny and very crowded in the observation deck, which suffers from being badly designed. The lights inside are very bright which causes a lot of glare. Your view is also obstructed by supports on the outside of the glass. This is particularly bad if you want to take photos. The tower moves a lot and so long exposure photos are impossible. Finally, the building looks very very dated and like no effort went into the appearance. Reminded me of the inside of a concrete light house. Overall, I do not recommend this attraction.

Excellent view of Kyoto, binoculars are free to use and one can see multiple interesting sights (which you should visit later on), buildings, and even catch a glimpse of those Japanese bullet trains.
Unfortunately, however, most city skyline views are very similar.
Location is good, easily accessible. Visit if not very budget constrained. At the time Adults approximately ¥700 and lower for children.response / report this review -

A rainy day in Kyoto and this was perfect. A great view of the city and perfect to get your bearings before you set off to explore. The info-touchscreens at the top of the tower allow you to know what you're looking at, really nice way to get an overview of Kyoto. We also ate here - not at the top floor, but they have many different restaurants in a cafeteria-style kind of area on one of the lower floors. There's a bar at one of the higher floors that didn't look too expensive (and might be a good option to be up in the tower without paying for the observation deck, if you're not into that).

朝、友達と先生と一緒に修学旅行で、東海道新幹線に乗車していたら目の前に京都タワーがあったので、もう一度新幹線が京都駅を行ったり来たりしている様子をもう一度見てみたいと思っていました❗

なんだかんだ言ってもここがこのあたりで一番京都っぽい。ポルタでご飯食べるより京都って感じ。修学旅行気分もどこか味わえます。
