  アクセスは地下鉄蹴上駅下車すぐ。桜の時期は非常に多くの人で混雑します。また足元は小石と線路だからヒールなどは避けた方が無難かも。

  大津から宇治川に至る20.2キロの舟運ルートで落差のある蹴上、伏見の二ヶ所に敷設されここのみが形態保存されています。約90本のソメイヨシノが咲く季節の散策がおすすめです。

  「インクライン」→直訳すると「傾斜」ですが、「傾斜鉄路(鉄道)」という意味もあります。一般に観光地などにある旅客営業を目的としたケーブルカーに対し、山岳地帯での材木運搬や資材輸送などを目的とした産業用の鋼索鉄道を「インクライン（incline）」といいます。

  ここから琵琶湖疏水に入って三井寺に行こうとしてはいけません。厳しく怒られます。それ以前に死ぬかもしれません。

  線路のところが両側の桜が枝を広げて手をつないでいる、桜のトンネルのようになっていて、すてきなところです。
