Food is pretty standard for soba, but the portions are WAY too small for the price. The tempura is 1500 yen and doesn't even come with any prawn.

It's worth the stop for the famous soba noodles, but the critiques on the small portion sizes (at least by American standards) are true, so you'll likely want to order multiple portions or plan to grab a snack somewhere else as well. Being able to listen to the counter lady sing out the orders to the kitchen was an added treat.

There's a few foreigners here and there but mostly it's a super long queue (like an hour) of old Japanese folk. The soba portion is pretty small, I saw many people order a second and then stacking their trays. They do have an English menu and a lady chants/sings the orders to the kitchen. Even after I finished eating the line was still just as long.

Amazing soba!!! Portion is small though and my 4 yrs old daughter can even have one and a half portion. Hence a grown adult will need 2-3 portion. Their special appetizer is great for small bite and drinking. It tourist friendly as well as their staff can speak English and they have English menu.

Very nice and traditional soba restaurant. They have an English menu and also give institutions on how to eat soba. Be prepared to queue for a little while.
