Nice traditional Japanese style guest house in walking distance of dogenzaka. Front door locked at 23:30 but you are given a code to get in. If you want somewhere cheap for a Saturday night in shibuya it's a great choice. Room was much bigger than most in Tokyo

15 minute walk to Shibuya station, close to multiple convenience stores. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and most speak good English. Japanese style rooms have a nice aesthetic with tatami and futon.

Great location for visiting shibuya and surrounding areas. There is a bus stop right next to the family mart. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Friendly service, big room by Japan standards. Pretty clean. Location is about 15 minutes walk from Shibuya station.

Rooms were large and comfortable. Few electrical outlets in the rooms, which was troublesome for us as a pair of tech people, but we managed.

The beds were futon-style similar with many in Japan, firm by our standards but had a good sleeping experience with them. As a taller person (180 cm/6 feet), some of the doorways had to be ducked through but the room itself had high ceilings.

The staff was also very friendly and helpful, pleasant to deal with.

Clean, decent, affordable, and centrally located. My family (myself, wife, and 4 children) stayed for a total of 6 nights at Hotel Fukudaya. It was a no-frills, but pleasant experience. Two of the nights we slept in a big meeting room in the old part of the hotel. The rest of the nights we were split between two modern rooms. We slept on futon mattresses on the tatami floor. The hotel has a traditional Japanese bath - piping hot and large, that was a joy to soak away the flight and any aches or pains from hiking around Tokyo. The kids really enjoyed that. Many years ago, my wife and I lived in an apartment not far from the hotel so we knew the neighborhood and how to get around. We also knew what to expect in terms of room size and the Japanese lifestyle. Westerners my find the hotel too small or too different from their expectations of lodging. It was great for us though. If you've ever lived in Japan and are visiting, this is great hotel to use as a base camp and save your money for food, shopping, and sightseeing.
