Nice rooms, great food, nice hot spring and walking distance to the gondola and lake cruise boat dock.

Went there as part of the tour to see the gondola. They offered a nice set menu. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Great hotel near lake Ashi with a nice onsen in it. I recommend it for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

My boyfriend and I stayed here 2 weeks ago. He already wrote his own review but I wanted to write an additional review to thank the staff for accommodating my dietary needs. Since food was “included” with our room and there are no restarants closer than a 5 minute walk and/or a short car ride away, I had little option but to eat at the restaurant at Hakone Lake Hotel. I don’t eat meat, so I emailed the hotel a few days ahead of time (based on the suggestion of a previous google review) and the staff was more than obliging! Every meal our waiter told me which dishes did not have meat and the chef even made me special dishes when the meal contained meat. For me, the staff going out of their way to provide a special DELICIOUS meal was really appreciated. Each meal was served with several courses, an appetizer, a side sashimi plate, a soup, salad, rice, and main dish with vegetable. Everything was so thoughtful and delicious and I very much appreciate the accommodating staff at Hakone Lake Hotel! Thank you!

Good quality for a 3 star hotel. Nice restaurant. Close to stations for lake cruise and Hakone Ropeway.

relaxing place to stay for a couple nights, big and clean onsen, multi course dinner and buffet breakfast, next to both the ropeway and boat dock. would probably be a bit boring if staying for more than a couple nights (no bar)

Nice hotel with really good SPA area. It´s close to the amazing lake & ropeway station. Food is typically Japanese. Unfortunately, staff do hardly speak English. Rooms are okay, but bathroom is really tiny and plastic.

The rooms are really good, but the bathroom is shared by the whole floor. The hot baths are amazing. The dinner is quite good, but some tables receive other food than the one on the menu, but there was no word of why it was like that. The staff is very nice but few speaks fluid English

Beautiful location and onsen. Dinner and breakfast was good but served too cold. Rooms were small but nice.

Had lunch there, organised by tour. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't buffet. The potion was sustenance, ie small by western standard. Food quality was average.

It's the best hotel I've ever been, it's far away from where the shinkansen (bullet train) leaves you (in odawara, a city southeast from here), but it's definetly worth it. The staff is very kind, they wait for you for dinner (of course, after 8pm they won't) and they have your room's table already reservated. There's a souvenir shop in the lobby. The front garden is nice to play with the frisbee, the footballs or the badminton kit (all of which are in a little box before the garden). The onsen is amazing, it has 4 pools of thermal water and 1 sauna room. The rooms are typical japanese rooms, tatami floored and you need to take your shoes before stepping on it, they also give you kimonos, which are very fresh to wear. The futon-like beds are very comfy. It's location, just a short walk from Togendai station (where you take the cable car to owakudani and the sight-seeing boat to motohakone and hakone-machi) is the best hotel location there.

Ate at the restaurant and walked around the grounds. Very clean, good menu with local Japanese dishes. Cozy feel to the hotel. Would be a nice "getaway" for a 1-2 days. With a car or local guide, it is a relatively short trip to Mt Fuji, the Hakone Ropeway, and Lake Ashi boat ride.
