I like that this museum is very educational about dinosaurs, and it's very interactive. There are displays where you can touch surface textures, fossils assembled together, and informative games for children to play. Families must go here when visiting Fukui!

The best museum in Japan ever! This place is not a cheesy tourist trap, it's a really good place for you and the dinophiles in the family. I highly recommend it

State of the art knowledge, moving dinosaur robots, good translations. Recreations like this run the risk of being cheesy and shallow, but it always seemed convincing and well-founded. An excellent place for kids.

Beautiful modern museum, fully accessible for English speakers, and lots of interactive side attractions like doing your own archeological dig. The drive up is also gorgeous with misty mountains on all sides!

I love this museum. I recommend this museum to foreign tourist going to fukui. It has information displayed in English. The building is magnificent also. Buy combo ticket (train and museum ticket) in the ticket counter of the private railway, at the fukui station. a little bit cheaper than buying separate tickets.

The museum is out of the way, but Fukui city definitely makes it easy to access. Just get a day pass at the ticket office in Echizen station and you'll be able to take the bus to and from Katsuyama station to the museum. It is totally worth it! There is also a playground we wish we would have seen before boarding the bus.
