3 and a half stars if I could. The service is fantastic, very polite and attentive. The rooms are very Japanese, Clean and pleasant, however do look tired. As do many on the building in the area. A lick of paint wouldn't go a miss. Maybe this is a west vs east thing. The bath houses are great however. There are a rotation of public onsen for men and women, so you get to experience them all. You can also book a private one with your partner, for free if you are staying. Some of the onsen are out door and have saunas. The breakfast is extravagant, and very Japanese.

Top service, beautiful gardens and hot spring, rooms are neat and clean. Staff is friendly and so helpful, they do their best to communicate in English. Love Japan!

Excellent onsen and half board service. Sleep in futon (Japanese style) is a must. The slight downside is its slightly far from the bus station as it is located right at the other end of the town.
