Canyons is a great group of people. They have both English and Japanese tour guides that are all very proficient in their language and skills for canyoning. Chris, Joe, Yusuke, and Hikaru were amazing!! Fox canyon was a lot of fun with easy, mellow portions and then a couple good waterfalls for the thrill seeker. They kept us all very safe and most of all had a wonderful time!! If I am back in Japan, I will most definitely try for another Canyons trip.

I can't compliment this place enough! I faced some fears in the canyons, and felt safe with the fun, confident, and knowledgeable (+English speaking!) staff. We spent two nights at the lodge, and had a great time BBQing, playing pool, and hanging out by the river. The breakfast, lunch and BBQ dinner were all amazing too. I would definitely recommend Canyons to anyone looking for some fun times!

I am absolutely in love with the staff, the location, and the warmth Canyons gives in every interaction. I have visited Minakami 4 times for nature adventures, and 3 out of 4, it was with Canyons. The staff goes above and beyond and makes sure you understand proper procedures and risks all while answering your questions and concerns without sarcasm nor condescension. The BBQ lunch is worth it! Do it! You won't regret it. Stay at the lodge because the rooms are bigger than most in Japan and they provide bath towels and bath essentials. In the winter, they even have heaters for you! They also have rental fleeces out if you feel chilly that are free of charge. Out of 10, I give Canyons a 11 because they deserve it.

Great place for outdoor activity with family and friends! The staff was super welcoming, speaks English since some of them are from New Zealand and Australia. They offer white water rafting, canyoning (zip lining through forest and floating down rivers and rappelling down waterfalls), and bunjee jumping.
Nice way to see Japan outside of the big city. They also have a bar for guests to hang out and listen to live music in the late afternoon.response / report this review -

I would 10/10 recommend this company. They made the experience fun from the second we stepped off the bus. We had 4 guides for the day with our group of ten people. We are all from the states and we had no problem with the language barrier. I always felt safe and the excitement/ thrill was more than I expected (in a good way)!

Folks, this is a badass experience. Went Canyoning. They take you through stuff you wouldn't expect to be able to do: zip down a 20m waterfall, slide down a river rapids, clamber over rocks, abseil down a cliff. They tell you how, keep a very watchful and attentive eye on you, and are all around organized, cheerful, super safe, and competent as hell.

The best trip EVER!!! We went on our honeymoon & the guys my us feel welcome from the minute we arrived (especially Nicki & Joe). The activity was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The BBQ is ace. Great place, fantasic team and would go back again. Thank you guys!!!

Awesome experience had by my family and I a couple of days ago. Adam our guide was fantastic and brought extra fun to an already fun filled time. If you are in minakami it's a must-do, and if you are in Japan it is worth traveling for. I can't recommend this enough.
