  まだ噴火の傷痕が残り、火口見物はできないが、それなりに観光客はいた。

  The scenery from here is really stunning and worth coming to see.
  There is a rope way up to the crater, but it's not always open as there may be dangerous levels of gas from Aso san. Out of 3 trips to Aso, I've only been able to get closer to the crater once.
