  I went solo and loved it. I was the only westerner but felt welcome. Nice food, I would happily revisit.

  大衆酒場の見本のようなお店。常連さんんで賑わっています。
  ご家族での経営でしょうか、店員さんの掛け合いも見ていて心地よいものです。
  メニューは豊富でどれも安く、近所にあれば毎日でも通いたいほど。
  駅からは少し離れているのが難ですかね。

  最近の激安の立ち飲み屋を別にすれば、座って飲める店としてはこのエリア最安の居酒屋です。味は普通ですが品数が多いのがいいですね。

  入るのは勇気いるけど、入ってしまえばお気楽なお店
  とりあえずコストパフォーマンスが良い
  昭和の味が良い意味でも悪い意味でもある店

  We found this place walking down the street from our Airbnb in Kyoto and it turned out to be a fantastic local izakaya! The food is excellent and very inexpensive - delicious chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, tonkatsu, and much more, for about 250-400 yen per plate. The drink menu has numerous sake and shochu options plus large bottles of Asahi at great prices. And the older couple that runs the place were super friendly (especially when we showed up for a second straight night) and provided great service (with the help of their English-language menu) despite the fact that we spoke basically no Japanese and they speak basically no English.
  
  If you're staying nearby and want an inexpensive, delicious izakaya meal and drinks, this place is a great choice.
