Looks like it's just a tofu shop but the seating is up the stairs on your left as you enter. Kyoto has tofu and yuba listed as a regional food that you should try while visiting. The food and service is amazing. The food is so good that even a hardened anti tofu type person would become a fan. English menu.

Delicious tofu for a comfortable price; main dishes go for 1200-1500 yen, with a few fancy taster variants being a bit more expensive. Extremely friendly staff, one vegetarian/vegan option available. Loved my experience here and would go back in a heartbeat. Located on second floor, above tofu store.

The raw yuba tempura set was absolutely delicious.
At ¥1550 this is a good introductory meal for a first timer to taste a few varieties of bite size tofu dishes, as the set also comes with a small square of sesame tofu, dollop of silky oboro tofu curd, a tablespoon savoury tofu mix which they also use in their croquettes (croquette not included in this set) and a sliver of tofu cheesecake which tastes so far from disgusting that i had to order a full size one, which they drizzle with a light strawberry compote.
It was really nice of the server to point out what i was eating even though her english was limited.
There's also 3 styles of kyoto beer you can go for a light lager type which i think goes well with the light tofu dishes, an amber beer which i quite like drinking before the food was served but found it a bit overpowering when paired with food.and also a dark beer.
Love this shop! Bought some soy products which they sell on ground floor to bring back home.response / report this review
