Lovely experience, it's a cosy, small restaurant with delicious sushi and very friendly staff! I went there two times and will probably go again!

Sushi was all right but not even close to what we tried at the market in Tokyo. Fresh but very small portions + a cover fee of about Y700 per person. In the end, our wallet was Y12K emptier but a lot of space still left in our stomachs. I don't question quality as product was fresh but feel that price/quality ratio is a bit off balance due to restaurant being located in Gion.

Best sushi me and my GF ever had in our lives. And the price is nothing crazy and TOTALLY worth it. Also, great service, from both the chef and the nice lady who was serving us. If you are in Kyoto, you HAVE to come here!

This place ONLY serves fresh fish. We wanted salmon sashimi but the restaurant owner said that they don't have it because what was available on the market wasn't good enough for their restaurant. Talk about standards.
The best fatty tuna I have yet to come across. The tuna melted quicker than butter in my mouth.
Cash only.
English menu available.
Seats about 15 people so expect to wait if it's a weekend night.
The wasabi is served on a grate plate as a root that has been grated down. Impressive display.
Expensive. A plate of toro sashimi was ¥3300.
The variety of sushi (8 pieces) was ¥2500 or a little more.
But you pay for the darn good quality.

Beautiful food and lovely service.
Try to sit at the counter so you can watch you food be prepared. I'd recommend picking what you like rather than the set menus. The lean tuna was beautiful for my taste but they offer premium fatty tune for a price. Scallops and tempura was also lovely.
For two it was around £30 a head with drinks which was great value.response / report this review -
