  Byzantine period church with outstanding mosaics undamaged by iconoclasts. It is the must see church in Khirbat al-Mukhayyat. The historic church is sheltered under a modern construction to safeguard the mosaic floor from the elements and vandalism. If you find it closed, go to the nearby guard house and ask to see the mosaics. The guard will escort you inside where you will be allowed to enjoy this masterpiece of a mosaic. It is not a bad idea to leave a tip once you are done. Highly recommended before or after seeing the Basilica of Moses in nearby Mount Nebo. Beware there are no restrooms here.
