Nice place for a drink and a meal, they do great sandwiches, this place has a lot of history too :). First place to have gotten electricity in Jamaica.
Would like to know the name of the guest house and where in St Elizabeth is it. Do you have a local phone number to call. Thank you. What is the cost to stay per night. I am looking an affordable price.
It wasn't my style, out had lost its friendly taste of how to treat a guest. I didn't even got the chance to sleep that much. I felt unwelcome so the my stay their is the first and the last.
Great value, basic, but clean and great service! Get to know the guys at the front desk, they will be your personal concierge!
The food was good. The bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was okay and clean. The place could use a little paint in some areas. The wifi was down and didn't extend to the rooms. Breakfast is served a little too late for business travel. They also need to have some sort of food and drink offering after 9pm, maybe a vending machine. Everything else was good, expect the TV was a bit troublesome to get going.
Great place to stay
My only problem was the noisy motorcycles on the compound.

Don't expect anything specialI wouldn't recommend it for a stay over but you can stop by for the food that's ok.
It was awesome love it
Great Customer Service, Really Nice Food and Great place to JAM
Waterloo Guest house is the first place to have electricity in Jamaica and it's located along the coast of Black River very nice place very peaceful and secure
Quite and affordable.
The Waterloo sets the standard for all other guesthouses on the Island. It's the 1st house to get electricity in Jamaica. How's that for bragging rights? When I was there I actually felt like I was experiencing another culture and not just any other standard hotel. It's right across the street from the Caribbean Seawalk about 100 feet and your literally "under the sea!" Now let's see about convenience: Downtown Black River is about."Hey!, I can see Downtown from the entrance too!" There's a very nice sidewalk that lines the sea..makes for a nice relaxing stroll with your friends or family or special someone to town being refreshed constantly by the cool Caribbean Sea Breezes! This is Jamaica as it's meant to be: Laid Back and Relaxed! After exploring Downtown Black River, with all of it's many Restaurants featuring goodies like Ackee and Saltfish, Rice and Peas along with many fine soups and after passing the Roadside Vendors selling Peppered Shrimp, Star Apples,Papayas and Mangos on the way to the Supermarket to buy some Freshstart Drink Mix and Picnic candy bars.you can come back to the Waterloo for some more relaxation. Relax under the Breadfruit Tree, hang out at the pool or come inside to your nice comfortable room featuring a refridgerator, spacious bathroom and huge comfortable bed! Oh!and don't forgetyou have an awesome AC unit at your service! Before i forget, after your done with your Black River Safari Boat Ridewhich is a MUST!you don't have to runback to town for dinnerthe Waterloo has you covered! Very nice cooked on the spot meals even brought to your room! Another added plus is that they actually have ICE! A simple item many Americans can't do without but a extreme rarity in Jamaica's Countryside! Trust me, if you forget to get some ice in Montego Bay, forget about it until you arrive at the Waterloo in Black River 2 1/2hrs later! All in all, if your on the South Coast it will make all the difference if you stay at the Waterloo. Thanks for helping me have the Best Exotic Vacation EVER!!! "NO PROBLEMS, NO WORRIES!"
RECOMMENDED!!!
It's really is cozy
Could be better
