Sporting Jamaica

As a unit within the Jamaica Tourist Board, the core objective of Jamaica Sport is to invest in sporting opportunities that will generate positive returns for Jamaica and promote the island as the premier sporting destination in the region. The unit will focus on:
1. exploring the commercial opportunities provided by sport tourism
2. leveraging Brand Jamaica and the sporting events held locally and internationally to ensure that Jamaica maximizes on its publicity, public relations and marketing and promotional opportunities
3. encouraging additional visitors to our shores or at least have them experience Jamaica through sports, music and culture

Presently we are targeting various sport events that will give Jamaica the competitive advantage as a potential host at both the professional and amateur levels. To that end, we will be working closely with a number of special sport tour operators in source markets across North America, UK and Europe as well as strategic airline and hotel partners to develop competitive packages.
