Great food. Nice place for liming (chilling), brunch or casual dinner. Seating seems limited. It is located in Montego Bay as well as Kingston. Not a long wait time. Good drinks too. Doesn't disappoint. If you're vegan or vegetarian, I wouldn't recommend as this place is all about the meat :) and it might convert you :)
By far the BEST jerk restaurant in Western Jamaica. The service is fast, the food is spectacular, the area gives you a rustic Caribbean feel which blends in well with the food being served. I always love going here.
Wanted to experience Jamaica outside of my resort and boy, was I glad I didhad a dining experience that was warm, friendly, and good service. Resorts are designed so that sometimes the politeness can seem forced, but this was genuine, and I felt like I was not a touristnot to mention the food was very flavorful and the drinks were mixed well! 100% Grade A!
The food is on point, pricing is reasonable and the customer service is very good. Ambiance is perfect for chilling. I just love it and you will too.
Good atmosphere, fabulous food and excellent service! With 15 of us served by just one lady, the wonderfully smiley Sonia, it was amazing how efficient she was & how quickly we received our food!
Definitely recommend this spot for great jerk chicken, fish & all the sides taste great too!
Best Jamaican jerk chicken on the island. This place does it right. Great sauces. Decent drink selection. Very good smokey flavor.
We stopped here on the way back from a bamboo rafting excursion and had an excellent lunch. I had the pork and sausage and my husband had the chicken. We also tried the festival and steamed veggies. Everything was excellent but we both loved the pork the most. I highly recommend the green spicy sauceso yummy!
The seating is outdoors and they have a bar. There is shade for each table and it was very relaxing and comfortable even though it was road side. They have a couple of TV's for sports. There is take out and sit down. They accept credit cards!
Their jerk chicken is probably the best there is in the parish of St. James! The only thing better than it was what my friend (chef) made himself on a beach day, but I digress. The jerk chicken is not overcooked like other establishment's (looking at you Jerky's), the yams, potatoes, vegetables, everything is all good. The pricing is pretty fair for the most part. The seating and decor is standard for a hut-styled eating area. In summary you won't regret it at all.
Fantastic place for hanging with friends. Have a drink, eat a steam fish or have some chicken or pork. Atmosphere and the staffs make it so welcoming.
We went there as a larger group. There was plenty of seats in a semi private area. Total sites were about 50, including the bar. As I walked in one of the grill men gave me a sample of pork straight from the grill. It was a great bite and was excited about the meal. We ordered a variety of meat and and sides. Unfortunately most of the meats we ordered were dry and over cooked. It was such a contrast to the bite I had as I walked in. Not sure if it was because we were a group, but definitely a bit disappointed. The sides were also hit or miss. The favorite thing we had there were the 'festival' (cornbread fritters) and the sauces with the meat. Would not recommend the rice and peas (beans).
TL;DR - meat is good if you have it straight from the grill, go with the festival as your side.
My friend’s phone was stolen there, the idiot who stole it didn’t realize an iPhone could be shut down once stolen. Even in the very late of the night the phone was tracked as being there, at Scotchies.I leave you to realize what that means. Just one movement from counter to cashier and the phone was gone (it was on the counter) I would never eat there again. I won’t discourage anyone who wants to eat there but if you do, be extra careful with how you handle your cellphone.
Good food. It has some great fresh food. Jerk chicken and the rice with peas (red beans) is really delicious! The waitresses are nice, good at making sure your order is right.
Definitely a must go!!! The locals love it so we foreingnzz should have no problem. Food was good.. but drinks are very expensive. Order at the bar its quicker than at the counter!!
Nice country like place.. good food.. great place to hang out.. gets hot at times even at nights but is good.. I know for a fact it's the best jerk pork in Jamaica!
The atmosphere is quite rustic. You would quickly forget that it's right beside the highway. The chicken was more roast than jerk.
Basic menu with very affordable food. We payed $11 for 2 people with 2 sides. Food was amazing, very tender and full of flavor. The jerk sauce can be very hot so add with caution. Best jerk I have ever had. It is all outside so heat and rain can be a problem and service is a little slow
Excellent jerk chicken with great smoky flavors. The rustic vibe is great but be prepared to be eaten alive by mosquitoes. Still, it's definitely worth a visit, if only for a pick up
Awesome jerk chicken and pork One of the best on the island. Their spicy sauce is a hit Don't visit Jamaica without going to scotchies
As a Jamaican girl who love food and who knows good food. This is where u find the best jerk of all time 😁
Excellent Jerk Chicken!! We will return soon! Great atmosphere! Give it a try, you will love it.
The food was amazing. Atmosphere is nice. But DO NOT change your mind on what you order. I wanted to change my punch for a different flavor. The waitress told me no, she will have to refund the whole order. Seriously!
Great place to stop as a traveler and get some well seasoned jerk meat. Not too loud n not too fussy. Nice chill spot.
Great food when they have it in stock. Please keep stocks 4/6 choices were not available. Please fix this and as it is quite basic business sense.
Scotchies has the best Jerk Meals ever. Its done on the wood fire and service is excellent. Food is great.
Don't miss this place if you're in Montego Bay!! Wood fire grilled jerk chicken and pork. Very reasonably priced. Under $35 for 5 people to eat including a nice size tip.
This is an absolute must if your in the area. Great food. This is where the locals tell you to go. You see them eating there as well as a few tourist like myself that were lucky enough to hear off this place. Get off your all inclusive resort and say you've eaten real Jamaican
