OVER THE WATER BUNGALOWS ROCK. We had the good fortune of being able to stay at the new (opened Dec '17) bungalows. Wonderful! We started in one of the units facing east and there is no place to sit out doors under cover which is kind of a bummer and a definite recommendation. ALL of the regular rooms have a covered patio, but not the premium bungalows. This is unfortunate depending on which way you face. It can be unpleasant when the sun is beating down. Or when it is raining. The rooms are beautiful and the butler kitchenette is fabulous. We had a fully stocked bar with top shelf drinks.
Our butlers Kevin and Kristofferson were fantastic. Truly we didn't do much more than enjoy our bungalow and Cabana on the beach for a week and that was heaven. Food was great and with butler service in our room we could eat from any of them. Service was exceptional. Definitely recommend.
I thought a beach resort vacation meant swimsuits and sun dresses. Be prepared for a dress code. We paid a lot of money for this shit. Don't tell me your one star restaurant won't accept us because my swimsuit cover up dress is too wet after swimming. It's a fucking beach resort. 90% of our requests for our room (such as an extra packet of coffee for our coffee maker in our room) have been ignored. They accidentally put a second $400 hold on our debit card which resulted in a NSF fee from our bank as they wouldn't reverse the charge until after we checked out. They also told us room service was not included in our package, so we couldn't get it at all, even for an additional fee. Positives: bartenders all seemed friendly (waitresses not so much). Great climate and scenery.
Unbelievably the best!!
Went back a second time!
Clean beaches and wonderful service from all employees!
Food and drink fantastic!
Calm and relaxing atmosphere! Could have had better entertainment..more musical bands!
the south coast of Jamaica is really very beautiful. And perched on the coast is this really wonderful Hotel. The grounds are very large. Approves are enormous. And the restaurants are plentiful and varied in their cuisine. Naturally, the amenities come at a price. If the property is in your price range, then it is certainly very well worth a visit for a day or two or three. Very highly recommended.
A fantastic and relaxing resort. Never feels busy. Terrific food options, great drinks. Staff is wonderful. Peacefulness defined.
My husband and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! He got sick while we were there, and the staff was amazing. They called in to check on him, made sure we saw the nurse, and brought soup and tea up to his room while I was out and about. The food was great, the drinks were as strong as you'd like them to be, and the I just cannot say enough nice things about the staff. One of the entertainment staff members, Doblin (the Fresh Prince of Sandals) especially stood out as he brought a great vibe to the main pool and events.
This resort is definitely for the laid back, and not a party resort, which is how i like it. If you're looking for a party resort, I'd look elsewhere as there was very little nightlife, but if you just want to relax and enjoy yourself, this is the place.
I would definitely go back, and I will definitely be looking into another vacation with Sandals.
My husband and I travelled to South Coast for our anniversary. This was our third trip to Sandals and sadly we won’t be coming back to to this one. We stayed in a walkout beach club level room in the Italian village and the concierge service was awful. We had to call daily sometimes twice to get our fridge restocked with water and champagne. We had questions about excursions but when we asked they gave us the wrong days so we missed out and when we questioned her about it she just shrugged and said she couldn’t help us but she could put our room number in a songreally?. A few of the bartenders were rude and made you know they didn’t want to help you or wanted to be there. Didn’t give you what you asked for. Dinner reservations weren’t required so the night we went to Jasmines the place was half empty but were told by the rude hostess they had no openings and were full because the empty tables were for Butler suites and when we got seated in the “non important” section we had no service until the manager noticed and he ended up serving us and the whole time we were there only 2 butler tables were seated. Lots off bees at the main pool got stung reading a book. Was very disappointed with this resort and will not recommend it.
Went for our honeymoon. Incredible resort. Never too crowded, even at dinner. Food was great. Staff was great. Accommodations great. Even when it was storming it was beautiful. Highly recommend catamaran cruise and visit to YS falls. Very fun time.
The resort had so many fun amenities and activities that were all included in the price. The grounds were clean and beautiful. There were several great restaurants to choose from which all had great food choices. Being Vegan I never had to worry about eating options. The staff would alert the chef who always created something that would work for me. The staff was friendly and so accommodating to every request. They consistently went above and beyond my expectations. I went with 60 people for a Pickleball tournament. The resort gladly converted several tennis courts for our use. We had a fantastic time and will definitely come again.
Wonderful resort. The property was beautiful and the staff friendly. The beach front was well maintained, not overly crowded and very accessible. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. Would highly recommend this Sandals location.
After the long bus ride from the airport, the reception at the resort is top notch. The food is plentiful and well done, and the drinks flow free. It's liberating to not be tied down to a schedule as most activities are first-come, first-served. We had fun watching a family water ski while waiting for our turn to go tubing. The staff are amazing, always happy and helpful. They helped us with a minor room issue and relocated us the next day. We're only on day two of our week long stay here and I'm very happy with the experience thus far. Despite being "at capacity" nothing is crowded, and it feels like we have the resort to ourselves at times.
Pretty much just a place to drink in the sun. Breakfast starts too late to go scuba diving. Stepped on sea urchins several times while staying there. Some of the bartenders don’t know how to make a proper martini. Some of the food was great, other times the food was average at best.
Just returned from our honeymoon from South Coast. This was my wife and I first trip outside of the United States. We enjoyed the the bus drive because we actually got to see the real Jamaica and put everything in perspective. Greeted with a cold wet cloth to cool off and champagne. Got in our room and smelled musty then went to the pool and were in for about 15 min before we got kicked out for treatment. Food was average, if you go to dinner order 3 entrees because portions are small. It was a clean, most of the staff was great. The main manager I guess who he is (mid 50s white guy walking around in safari looking clothes) rubbed me the wrong way a few times. Never seen a smile or talking to regular guests but was sure quick to kick us out of the pool because he wanted to get ready for some event for a group of travel agents and told us we could stay in the pool if we get 50 rooms then didn't even use the area or pool they kicked us out of. I get it but the way it was handled is what ticked me off. Entertainment crew was awesome. Really enjoyed ourselves other than the manager.
Gorgeous location. Nicely appointed rooms. Great service. Good food
My wig what I spent our honeymoon at sandals south coast. It has been a wonderful trip thus far. The staff has been very kind and courteous. The food has all been amazing as well.
The best resort I have stayed at yet! The beach is beautiful and the land it's on you can get lost of hours just walking around. The rooms are nice and they always leave little details when they clean. The food at the restaurants was delicious and always consistent. The Jamaican beef patties were my go to food. I had them every single day! The activities on the resort are fun and the employees are very good at engaging you. The employees are some of the nicest people you'll meet. The people of Jamaica are some of the nicest people in general. If you are looking for a vacation this is definitely a place to go!
My husband and I visited this resort September 7-11 2017, first off we arrived at the resort around 1:30 or so, we were greeted given champagne, everything was good, the lady said our room wasn't ready so she wanted to take us to have lunch, we went and had lunch and came back to check on our room status and it still wasn't ready. The lady at the desk told me that check in wasn't until 3 pm and they were trying to get the room ready. No one ever told me check in wasn't until 3, the people we were with on the bus got right into their room. We didn't get checked into our room until around 3:30. When we walked into the room it smelled musky. We stayed in the honeymoon beachfront walkout suite so we were about a mile from all of the restaurants so that part wasn't good. They were doing construction right next to our room building the new over the water bungalows so that was noisy and there were big pieces of wood floating in the ocean with nails in them! My husband stepped on one and cut his foot, I picked up 3 and put them up in a tree on the beach because I didn't want anyone else stepping on them. (I will attach pictures.) For the money we paid it really wasn't worth it. The food was just okay. I will say that everyone was really nice and accommodating but I don't think I will be back to this resort.
Good Food, Good Service, Good drinks, Good Accommodations! The only issue for me was that for some reason most of the female staff seem to be in somber moods. Would've liked to have seen more smiles from them.
Sandals was absolutely beautiful. They took care of you from the airport to the time you got in your room and beyond. Food was excellent, we loved the pizza from just Seppi's, quality! Because beautiful, so I took her beautiful, and excursions were all fun! The people made it that much better and we loved every second. Would love to go
Back as soon as possible! Highly recommend and be sure to meet Toni (happy feet) and Nelson (little Kevin hart). They ere fun and. Are it better for sure!
We had a great time relaxing on the beach and by the pools. There is a lot to do around the resort without having to leave and do any excursions. All the staff was very friendly and we had a great time talking to the guys at water sports and aqua Center.
The resort was beautiful and the staff was amazing, but the beaches are full of seaweed and I can confirm at least one sea urchin.(Ouch). All of the restaurants had menus with options that made your mouth water, BUT every single thing I tried (almost everything) was just "blah". Nothing remarkable.
MOST IMPORTANTLY - DO NOT USE THEIR PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICE NAMED "SNAPSHOTS". And if you do, triple check that the photos you selected are the ones that they burn onto your disc.
Overall all we had a good time, just not worth the money spent.
This place can be a bit pricey but it is wonderful. Main pool seems to attract the party and the side pools are quieter. Staff was great, food was amazing. Security was rude at times and the construction crew that was there while they were remodeling helped me fix a flat tire and a dead battery we got while we were there. Beach was nice but a little weedy. Pools were great and the rooms were also wonderful.
Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing. The entire staff was great. Great resort for people who just want to stay on property as the excursions are a little limited. At least the ones that don't require travel. Definitely recommend.
Always just awesome. Great value for money. Never a dull moment.
My fiancée took me here for my birthday weekend. It was awesome. Everything was splendid from the bar, the 7 different restaurants, water sports and friendly staff. The night club was epic. I enjoyed my stay. If you want diversity take a visit.
Amazing! Beautiful, great food, no reservations. Relaxing, plenty of free chairs. Great staff.
