We have stayed with our daughter at Pimento Lodge end of Feb beginning of March 2018 for 4 nights. Loyd and his charming wife Kate has been our perfect hosts and became our friends. The place looks absolutely amazing with luxury rooms. We never slept so good in Jamaica as in the Pimento Lodges beds!
If you don't like to stay in the touristic huge resorts around Ochio Rios and feel/touch the REAL Jamaica this is the place to be. Close to the estate are local places to eat (pizza at Likkle Italy is a great experience!) and drink and meet nice people. But also check the Frenchman Cove and Winnifred Beach. Loved staying here!!! I just got home and miss it already. Lloyd and Kate are such wonderful hosts! There is a very nice pool onsite if you can't make it to the beach. Clean rooms with a small table for eating and a mini fridge for a couple Red Stripes! All the rooms have a balcony so you can open the doors to get the lovely breeze. AC and coffee maker in the rooms as well. We had most of our meals at the Lodge. Kate and Ms. Dawn made us very tasty food, most of which has been grown on the property or picked up locally. Nicole and Latoya were very friendly and helpful. Eduardo was out there working hard on the grounds everyday. Very lucky to have stayed there and we can't wait to go back!!

Stayed at Pimento Lodge in October 2017. This place has a real welcome home feeling. Set on the hillside in Portland, you are surrounded by the lush greenery of all types of trees. The grounds are clean and well kept. Privacy wall around the property. Has a swimming pool.
The room was clean and spacious. Has a small refrigerator. No TV but I didn't miss not having one. Meals can be arranged by the host with advance notice.
A downside is the steap hill going up to the property. Once there though..it's a nice quite relaxing feel. Right at home feeling.response / report this review -

This is definitely a different side of the Long Bay community, the facility is located in the Rose Gardens section of Long Bay. Where people are more that friendly, it has really majestic views of the sea as well as the surrounding community, the people are friendly and hospitable. On any given day guest of the hotel can join community members in games of dominoes or their strange variety of card games. As it relates to the hotel, there are many activities to take part in, as well as guest may idle the evening away by the pool or at one of what may be called the cool breeze view spots Security, although not needed the Castle Police station is roughly about 7-minutes away. Service, great staff, no further comment needed Food excellent, however one should aim to try the local dishes. whew. Top it all off. although the beach is roughly about 500 to 600 meters down the road the view completely makes up for it. All in all completely worth the visit and a must see. If you visit once you will be hooked.

The view is really amazing. The hotel is at the top of a hill with no obstructions. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was great too.
There are a few good beaches and restaurants near by as well, but you won't be able to walk between them. Having a car made it easy for us.
If want to stay on this side of the island and don't want to spend as much as the other resorts in the area, give this one a shot.response / report this review -
