There are a lot of hustlers at this port so be careful and smart. My wife and I didn't do any excursion in Jamaica on our cruise and decided to go rouge and try to find a beach. People were offering us bus rides 20 minutes away from the cruise ship for upwards of $40. There was a beach within walking distance but they told us it was not safe and we needed to go to this beach 20 minutes away. We decided to just walk around a bit and go back to the ship and hangout. You'll get hounded to smoke weed at Bob Marley's house for $35just keep telling them no. Again, be smart and aware and you should be fine.

A lot of people bugging you too look and buy the sane thing you have seen a hundred off, and rather unkept area.
Otw to our Excision, there were 2 guys urinating on plane site smoking the road and litter everywhere.

I've been here at least 5 times and I've enjoyed all of them. The culture and people are great. They hussle for money but you should always barder with every purchase. Blue Hole is a must to visit if your into swimming and playing in the river, it has a waterfall and places to dive and jump into the river. A great family place.

The reason I'm giving it 4 instead of three is because it's a tough spot for first timers. Not the nicest part of town but nice enough. We didn't do any excursions so we had to be smart. As a tourist you will get hounded to spend money. Just ignore them or be a smart shopper. I had a guy try to charge me 40 bucks for one way to a beach. I got him down to 12 for both ways. DON'T trust everyone. Just be smart. Overall was a good time. Get jerk chicken too!

Nice smaller port for cruise liners. The area is beautiful but like always, you must be careful where you venture. The locals are lovely people with a wonderful culture, but like all areas around the world, there are people to watch out for. It is saddening to see how poor the natives are with large empty mansions clearly owned by people in other countries. Jamaica was my (Niki) favorite place because of the beauty and the beauty in the people. They truly understand what beauty in life is; NOT things.

Beautiful from before you even dock here to get off ship. Local are pushy though, you get funneled through tents of people trying *hard* to sell you stuff right as soon as you get off ship.

This is the port we docked at during a Carnival Cruise a few years ago. Not bad - it was much smaller than the Cayman's stop. A few decent shopping and restaurant stops, but it's mostly just a way-point to get on your way to an excursion in the area.

Beautiful place and scenic . However this city is not a place to just walk around to town. You will be asked 20 times for different can rates by many different cab drivers (some trying to swindle you and some not) (we got a small tour for $50 from a cab driver named Hans a very sweet old man who is honest) my husband tipped him $50 cuz he was not a push over like the rest. Do NOT go to the local small waterfall that's free , there are locals who will try to get you to swim there and leave your belongings on the shore but really they are trying to steal your stuff or shove things in your hands and carve your name on them before you agree to buy anything. Definitely pay for a tour or excursion because you'll because there is a lot of pan handlers to deal with otherwise . If your a nice person you won't be comfortable and you'll end up running back to the ship lol
