The improvements done over the years, both for arrivals and departures have been very good. It's good to be able to walk into the departure area with family or friends, help with their luggage and see them check in. The process of going through security check and immigration is quick and smooth. The waiting area is very comfortable and you can have snacks, patties, sandwiches, burgers, hot and cold drinks. Nice ambience, you can see the planes. Clean bathrooms. Arrival process is pretty much improved as well. Collecting luggage and going through immigration and customs is much smoother. The area for waiting for arrival have more seats and screens that show what planes are arriving. It is more pleasant now to sit and wait. Miss seeing the planes landing and taking off. Grateful for the improvements

Nice clean airport extremely well kept. The workers is very professional and proficient in their work. I love the duty free section of this airport where I get to try a few things. The bathrooms are very clean.

NMIA has improved over the years but at times going through immigration can be an interrogative process. I was shocked that my sister and i were stopped and directly asked about our ages. Next time ask for passports instead to be discreet.

Worst Airport ever, I travel a lot and have been to many countries and this is by far the worst experience. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Customer service is horrible from the moment you step off the plane at immigrations to leaving. Security confiscates everything, so if you have things that you love, check it. They are thieves because they don't turn it in, they take it home. The process is so backwards and badly needs to be evaluated. If my family wasn't in Jamaica I would never come back. The customer service is non-existent, I mean they won't even smile. The least they could do is hire pleasant people. Working at an airport isn't for disgruntled people. They won't let you check in even if the flight is no where close to boarding. Hoping I won't ever have to deal with these people soon.

The NMIA is a significantly improved airport facility over years gone by prior to the upgrade. It serves well the many airlines that stop in Kingston with smooth flow for check-in and departure including the lounge. My area of concern is the way carousels are used in baggage claim. In many international airports there is a yellow/black that indicates to passengers they need to stand three or four feet away from the carousel to allow everyone to see and remove baggage comfortably. The line needs to be placed in the airport to REGULATE how people use the carousels.

entirely disgusted with customer service. October 2017, my children visited their dad.
Items are being taken away. where is the literature which states not to bring hair extensions and a child must be 18 to have hair extensions in their carry on luggage.. Really beach life is plentiful. Amenities at hotels have water, hair extension brought are to allow locals to make a few dollars to address my daughter"s hair. it should be unconstitutional to give locals money when they ask. Better yet it should be looked into why aren't personnel attempting to be exceptional in their professional disposition when dealing with the public.
In December 2016 there was a clerk at the desk who threw my daughter's IPad which cost an arm and leg to repair. In the end she had to have a replacement. Ipad isn't only for games she uses it for school as well.
Beyond me, it is a sin to bring clothes or shoes to your family, friends or otherwise without the spectacle of trying to do otherwise. it"s overbearing now. Really overbearing. time to conduct staff training on public etiquette and cultural diversity. we wont speak on reservation to five start hotel and management refuses to allow paying individual with reservation to enter.

WORST AIRPORT EVER! I would highly recommend jumping off a cliff instead of entering this airport. They wont even let you through security or into the airport until right before your flight leaves for unexplained reasons. Don't even bother coming.

Security went through my carry-on nonetheless an efficient airport. I loved how the 98 bus dropped me right in front of departure. I saved on Taxi fare from Kingston with the 98 bus.

This is my home country airport. Very unique and easy to use. The workers offers nothing but the best in their service and communication. You get to taste wonderful Jamaican dishes from Island grill in the sitting area and walking to board or from unboarding the plane you can capture our cultural and legendary icons painted on the walls. You feel as if you are already on a tour in Jamaica.

Whenever I visit Jamaica, 90% of the time this is my primary port of entry. The first time I visited NMIA, it was 2002 but NMIA has improved various times of the years. Keep up the good work!

Simple and straightforward to navigate. Persons helpful and willing to assist when in need of help. Guest friendly. Needs back the viewing gallery of oldeven if its a virtual one with camerasneeds also some more seats in the waiting areas too..for more comfort. Otherwise great.

Easy to navigate. Very clean. Bright and colourful.
Lots of chances for last minute souvenirs, food, duty free liquor. The burger king of gross but the Caribbean food is awesome.

If you are disabled DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS AIRPORT. There is no disabled facilities there and they say is disabled you have problems accesing. I am wheelchair bound and unable to stand and I was told by staff and the police to stand so they can check chair. That's would be fine if I could stand. Very rude staff. No proper facilities for the disabled. Love Jamaica as I grew up there but not going back due to poor treatment.
