Malvern, is approx. 2,000+ above sea level in the Santa Cruz mountains and has the 8th healthiest climate in the world. A spectacular drive down the hill takes you to Treasure Beach.
The inside of the house is clean, spacious, very comfortable and modestly finished.
We have two guest rooms on the west side of the house and a master suite on the east side. In between we have a living/kitchen/dining room all open concept, the house always stays cool and breezy there is no need for a/c here.
The front guest room is the largest of the two rooms. Built in what Jamaicans call the 50 cent shape it has four large windows and looks out over the tree tops with a view that stretches as far as Manchester, we can see the lights of Mandeville in the evenings. Watch for the green parrots in the trees outside your windows.
The back room has two large windows and looks out onto the field behind us, lots of trees, lots of green, the Blue Mahoe trees at the back door attract plenty of Dr Birds.
Both rooms share a large bathroom/wet room. The shared bathroom has a large shower with a bench, riverstone on the entire floor in this room, so there is no need to worry about slipping on wet tiles.
The rooftop is the best place to view stars in the evening, maybe see an owl fly by or watch the sunrise if you are an early morning riser. If you peek between the mango and ackee trees you can see the sea.
Malvern is pure country and the place for those who want to see some of real Jamaica, we are well off the beaten path.
There is nuff nature around here and with Hampton School and Bethlehem Moravian College within walking distance there is a lot of history here, come visit us sometime.
