A Canadian yogini, Kayla teaches from the heart and shares her love of yoga using a gentle and compassionate, yet deceptively challenging approach to traditional Hatha Yoga principles.
Kayla began practicing yoga in 2008 as a complement to long distance running. It wasn’t until she started practicing yoga on the white sand beaches of Jamaica that she discovered the more spiritual side of the practice, which has since helped her to achieve overall wellness in mind, body and spirit. Little did she know that by embracing the island lifestyle, Kayla had taken the first few steps towards a new path in life.
In 2012, she completed her yoga teacher training certification under the tutelage of Marianne Wells (in the lineage of B.K.S Iyengar) in Costa Rica, becoming a 200-RYT Yoga Alliance certified instructor. The following year, as a means of developing a more individualized and hands-on approach for her students, Kayla began studying Thai Yoga Massage at the Lotus Palm Centre in Montreal and Toronto. She has since completed her Essential Certification. Through various courses and trainings, Kayla is continually developing her skills as a yoga instructor, Thai Yoga Massage therapist. Kayla is also working towards becoming a Reiki Master.
Kayla guides students of all levels, ages, and walks of life to meet themselves on the mat, grow and explore their true nature. Kayla’s intention is to help her students attain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness through the practice of yoga on their mats and in their everyday lives.
