Experience used to be good here, but since the COVID it's been terrible! Went there at 11:10AM yesterday and was FINALLY inside abt 1:20PM. This is absolute madness! Familiar faces come around and is let in instantly, while others who were there waiting patiently are left behind. They need to do better!
Because i am a senior citzen the security let me join that line my wait was short.
Visited Saturday, May 8, 2021 to renew motor vehicle registration, entered the building at 11: 04 and was out by 11:13, approximately 9 minutes. Now that was efficient service. Hats off to the staff.

Worst experience ever how can you adjust closing hours without any communication and then further adjust it without regard for your customers. I got rhere back at 2 15 pm to complete a transactuon and I am informed that the office is closed. Normal time is 4pm auppoaedly to be adjuated to 3pm THAT IS COMPLETE DISRESPECT FOR PERSONS TIME.
There is also a Passport office there. This branch of Inland Revenue was the only branch that opened on Saturdays, but since COVID-19 they have discontinued their Saturday opening hours.
I visit the location on Saturday Feb 1, 2020. The line was so long it stretch winding outside the building. The workers are so efficient & courteous . I got through in an hour time. Ive there on various occasions & there always more fast. Great job guys.
One of the most efficient tax offices...despite the long lines on a Saturday, u are guaranteed to be out within an hour.The Govt needs to do better though the building has outgrown its capacity!!!
Its a great add to the government public services in portmore or else you would have to travel to spanish town or halfway tree just to carry out tax payments and other services offered. The only down fall is that portmore has a huge population and it can be really crowded at times but besides that they offer great customer service and friend staff and are always willing to help.
I gave a star because we EVENTUALLY got our transaction done. The staff here sometimes seem clueless, uncomfortable and unwilling to use common sense. Firstly, we had one situation where we call and ask for guidance from head office and then come to the portmore branch only to hear a different story. Secondly, I visited recently to try find out procedure to obtain TRN for my child. I was told I had to wait in line. There were 4 persons ahead of me including the person being served at the counter. I waited for 10 ninutes decided this was follishness and then tried to get a office number so I could just call and get the info instead of wasting my time in a line (person was still at the counter). I was told that the staff don't know the office number and I should stay in the line - I guess that was because they prefer seeing people in lines. Hahaha. LOL... There must be a better way, so I left... Given the small size of this office I think it would be good to see people in and out of there very quickly to avoid and reduce clutter but that's just me... God bless unnuh.
Wish i could give no stars. The people at the passport section have no sense. They tell you one thing and head office tell you something else. Service is as poor as it gets
Line had 3 persons ahead of me and the wait was almost 20 minutes for a simple non cash transaction. There appeared to be no urgency in the way staff approached their duties.
This tax office is really small is the main reason for my dislike. Im not quite sure they really assessed the size of their customer base that would actually go to this location to transact business with the state; worse on Saturdays!
Open on Saturday is a plus so the line wouldn't be a problem in the week.
Very convenient location and the lines here are not normaly long. Much better than the ones in Kingston. Parking is a bit limited but that was not a problem for me. They also are open on Saturday which is an added convenience for customers. The customer service experience was good.

liked the fact that they accommodate the public on a Saturday. You never stand in line too long when you go there.
I appreciate that they open on a Saturday and suspect that a lot of non-Portmore people like me, use if because of the convenience. The staff seems hardworking but the office is really too cramped for the volume of traffic.
They dont answer phones really when you call but okay service
The service is not always that great but it's pretty convenient and the Saturday opening is a definite plus.
Space a bit small but the service is good.
