The system is so mesh up , the customer service has no ideas how to be of service to a customer. The ministry of health needs to , take all that cash that they don't know what to do with and build a new damn hospital Its old and broken. If you keep patching a old boat it will still fall apart . International Hospitals came to our countries and even build a better hospital than the one solely for the country. The private sector has taken over the industry for Jamaica and very much so Montego Bay. Over and over the government pays for unnecessary ads on television and do NOTHING the countries actual development. #stepuphealthindustry

Wow this place is just horrible. And what is even worst is that every emergency medical cases are routed back right to this horrible institution and their medical machinery are always out of service or their equipments are down. The staff is horrible, wait times could be improved because they do not handle emergency situations how they should be handled. Its like they WANT you to die, not even joking. Everything about this so called hospital is so horrible its unreal. It doesn't just stop there, the problem stems from the government itself, public health care is so horrible I can't even put the the disgust of this place in words. The mindset of the people, the whole system, everything is screwed smh. Its been this way for many years and its not getting any better.

Everyone bewaredo not go to this hospital! A 37 year old male had a stroke and was admitted to this so called hospital. We were on vacation from Canada and were unaware of the difference between private and public hospitals in Jamaica and in such an emergent situation just wanted to seek treatment. The nurses were awful and made statements such as "you don't think I want you to go back to Toronto too" and "you come here to visit and you can change the diapers." There was no doctor on site and we were told a doctor would not be there for 4 days after his admission. The only time a doctor appeared was when a CT scan was done and after his death. Needless to say we were devastated! The patient was admitted on July 27th, 2017 and was not given and water or food, had fallen off the bed and with left-sided paralysis was given medications orally without being assessed. He patient ended up passing away on July 30th, 2017. His body has yet to be returned to Canada so that his 5 children can have closure. I've decided to share this in hopes to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Please don't go to Jamaica without health insurance and do not go to this hospital!

I pray you will never have to visit this place, if you do be prepared to stay the entire day.

Last August 2016 my Mum had the misfortune to suffer a stroke whilst on holiday. To say that this hospital was the most disgusting, unprofessional, inadequate and pitiful place would be an understatement. The nurses don't get their hands dirty. The doctors don't care. I had to buy everything including mattress and bed sheets. I supplied everything including adult nappies only to find my Mum left in a wet bed for hours.I could list so many things about this hospital but it would only fall on deaf ears. My Mum died in September 10 days after cornwall regional hospital discharged her with feeding tube and nowhere for her care. I had to put her in a 'nursing home' but they were not qualified to really help. My Mum developed breathing difficulties and St. Ann's Bay hospital finished off what Cornwall starred. If you can afford to pay for private do so. If you're a visitor make sure you have full medical insurance. Then you won't endure what I experienced. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY can change this hospital. The infrastructure of the whole health system requires help. The mindset of the people and their government needs to change. My heart goes out to the local people, especially the seniors. They don't respect the elderly and it's a great shame. 😭

Doctors and nurses were really nice, however given the fact that it was an emergency case, it could've been dealt with faster.

Someone droped me off with a cut finger. I wait in line for 4 hours. I finally get to see the nurse and she starts dressing the wound. Half way thru she stops and asks what line I was on. I point to the line I came from and she took everything off my finger and sent me back to the back of the line. I just went home and went to clinic the next day. Not to mention the place was filthy.

The service at this medical institution is lacking to say the least. I have been a patient in this medical facility for 4 days whilst there are a few dedicated workers (nurses) other will leave you to die. I went an entire day without any antibiotics and pain medication at the negligence of nurses n doctors. This is steming from an appendix surgery, it was not until I decided to check myself out and report the matter to higher levels outside the hospitals perimeters that I received what was a medioker form of alternative. I returned to get a sick letter to present to my job for the days of absence and no one could locate my medical records or docket to write the letter. I will be formally bringing this issue to the press and my international forum. To highlight Jamaica's lack of proper health care and continued wasted money in unnecessary play arounds
