** great value resort ** . We booked and stayed at this resort in early May 2018 because of the close proximity to the airport (less then 10min with the tour bus) and smaller size.
The resort is amazingly kept clean and tidy. the personnel is super friendly. The room are very simple but all are ocean an pool facing so the views and sunset are gorgeous from your room.
The "DeCafe Bar" on the second floor is a gem and definetly get the coffee with rum cream.
The food was of good taste and quality, though the buffet selection a bit short. Also the station servers are a bit shy as we had to keep asking them to give a bit larger portions as they had difficulty with proprely carving meat cuts.
The entertainment crew is very friendly and engaging and the pool area amazing.
This resort offers great value for a relaxing and quieter stay for couples and adults. If you have kids better go to sunsplash nearby. Be aware that the sister DeCameron "Montego Beach" has no beach, however amenities and beach are shared between the two resorts.
There are free taxi service to shopping areas daily.
Overall very happy with the stay and experience and would certainly go back when deals become available.
Nice property but very very poor customer service
1st i would like to say i have nothing to compare it to being my 1st time to Jamaica. That being said i enjoyed it. Rooms were clean and modern. Staff was great, well organized and attentive. Entertainment staff was fun and full of energy (Stacy, Romaine, Candy crush and the 2 others which i can't remember). They really made the vacation worth it (The Michel Jackson show was great). Food was tasteful and menu changed daily. As a bonus you can eat at there sister hotel next door. The hotel is a short 10 min walk to Margaritaville which is packed on Thursdays (ladies night). Other then that there are a few local bars and shopping spots along the hip strip. I want to say thank you to all the staff and locals that made Jamaica great.
My wife and I have stayed here twice , once in 2012 and again this year Mar 4 til MAR 10th.If you are looking for a relaxing stay , look no farther. Its a small resort with lots of space and plenty of beach chairs. Food is above average. The Royal Decameron is not a party resort , yet, with that being said the entertainment staff were friendly and charismatic. We would go back again .
It's an ok place. I personally didn't like the food because for one it was limited and two it didn't taste that great. But the room was awesome!! Great beach experience.
Mostly we just went here to see how it was compared to Doctors Cave Beach. As they are right beside each other they are about the same. Used the water floating "toys" and otherwise just lounged on the beach. It was quiet with not many people there that day, which was just fine with us. Didn't try snorkeling so I can't say how that would be.
Was good for just taking a quiet afternoon break though.
If you have teenagers, the floating trampoline and iceberg would be something they would like.
The food was no good. The room was average. The staff were nice.
Beautiful private beach. Most pay to get on the beach.
It's magnificent. Beautiful place
I fell in love with this beach before it got built up as an hotel. Went to my first party here. Definitely had a great time.
This beach is amazing anywhere in Jamaica and this one is no exception.
