Rent a car and got a van. The tires were no good. On the first day one of the wheels got flat tire when we took it to get fixed the mechanic showed us that the tire is in shreds. Returned it to budget and they charge me $5050 for the new tire and they could see and agree that the tire was no good. Please do not use budget they will rob you BLIND

This was the worst rent a car experience. I beg you unsuspecting consumers. Do NOT rent from Budget Rent A Car Jamaica. The advertisement on Expedia is fraudulent. You will NOT get the vehicle you selected. No one returns your call. The custumer service is deplorable. Emails to customer service are unanswered. Your complaints go unanswered. They do not accept the insurance sold on Expedia's website. Instead you are charged double the amount for insurance. As I write this post my credit card still has a $500 hold. The car was turned back in with no damage. I will update to let you know. Do NOT rent with Budget. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrrrrrrible experience. No stars.

Do not rent from this company. I prepaid with Expedia and then was charged $167 for "fees" plus forced to purchase their insurance at $20.00 a day. The car also had poor brakes. When I returned the car I was charged another $135.00 for a "damaged tire" since we put the spare on because the next morning after we parked the car the tire was low. They had no way to check to see if it was a leak so they charged me $135.00, but said I would be credited back the $135.00 once they determined if it was a leak. The tire still had air in it with no outward sign of damage. I never received the refund. Also the counter service and pick up area was poorly managed. I don't plan to go back to Jamaica because of the action of this company.

Do not rent a car from Budget anywhere in Jamaica, they are not the same US company, they will find a way to keep your $500 deposit. They will give you a decent car for what Jamaica is but kiss the deposit goodbye no matter what. Try bus or go for another company they are robbers. if you dont believe me, I will show you images of the car and they bills. If you want to avoid a bad time, dont trust this company.

About 10 years ago I was charge additional money for damage to a wheel that I know was not there when I dropped off the car. My experience in the USA with the company had been great with several renatals. I guess it is the "norma"l way of fleecing people in Jamaica. Do not rent from Budjet Rent-A-Car in Jamaica!

DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!This business is a criminal enterprise. They are thieves. I rented a car for three weeks paying top dollar. They charged me $500US Dollars to vacuum sand out of the car. If someone spends $3,000.00 to rent a car in Jamaica there will be some sand in it. Furthermore - they pay their employees about $5.00 us dollars an hour. With that math it means that it took 100 hours to vacuum the car. They are untrustworthy. Do not do business here. PS - I only put one star on here because I could not submit the review with zero stars. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. This isn't business it's crime.

Not even zero but negatives. The scamming and corruption in Jamaica just continues with this Budget rental company in Kingston. Like the other reviewer I had a flat tire and foolishly called for it to be repaired thinking it would be done as a courtesy for their customers. Now that I see that someone else also had flat tire issues I am wondering if it is a scam where they give people faulty tires and await the call to come out and repair them. They take a $500 deposit at the sales counter so the smallest thing they can say your deposit is gone. They not only told me i was being charged $150 for flat tire but also a rim was damaged so I was being charged extra. Just blatant scamming. I had taken several pictures of the tires when showing friends why I was running and they showed no damage to the rims of the car. I disputed it with my card company but they were not much of an advocate besides holding up the payment for a few weeks. The only recourse seems to be to alert other people and let them know to not rent from this company cause they will use the slightest excuse to tack on charges and seize your deposit. I'm not sure what influence the American corporate office has but I will send off a complaint to them also for they are tarnishing the brand.

My husband and I visited Jamaica in March and picked our car up at the airport after booking online. About 7 days into our 11 days rental we were contacted and told that the vehicle we were assigned has been sold. We were told that they would come within an hour to make the exchange, we waited all day for them to get there and eventually make the exchange. Upon our departure we had an early flight so we parked the car and left the key at designated point. Two days after this we received email that the vehicle was damaged and we were being charged for repairs. No proof of damage was presented, the company that does the repair and car dealership is operated by the same person, there were multiple attempts to access our card after we departed the island by the dealer. The icening is, the documents they send us for repair has our name and a different license number from vehicle that was in our care. It was obviously altered to show our name. Thankfully we came home with our copy of original recipt. Would never use this company again no matter how reasonable their rates. Also do not expect any assistance from Budget International in remedying the matter.
