My husband and I were very excited to spend our honeymoon here and had high expectations since it was quite pricey (over $1200 a night). The food was very sub-par. There were several evenings in a row where we were served the same sauce with a different name atop some over-cooked fish. The chef could not even remember the name of the sauces and seemed to be intoxicated by dinner time. We did not complain initially because we were trying not to be "those people." We were finally fed up on our second to last day when we sat on the beach for a couple of hours with our lifeguard/server nowhere to be found. We could literally not make our own drinks since the ice buckets were empty and had to hunt down someone to make us drinks. It took another 20 minutes for us to locate someone. This place prides itself on you "not having to lift a finger," however, this was not the case. When approached by the manager fifteen minutes after this incident, she apologized for everything and wished we would have mentioned all of these issues earlier. I e-mailed the owner and she too stated that she wished I had mentioned these issues earlier. She also requested that we resolve the issue without me posting any negative feedback. Looking back, we probably should have said something sooner, however, we were worried about the repercussions of our comments in regards to our treatment by the staff. Perhaps if we were told initially that there were other staff members available to take over if we were unhappy with the ones we had, we may have brought our issues up sooner. Despite all of this, the owner did not offer us anything in exchange for our poor experience, other than a discount if we wanted to come back. I understand that this place supports the local community and I don't mind contributing financially to that in some way, but, when my husband and I spend that kind of money, we expect the service to be impeccable. We could have spent less and been treated better at a Sandals.

My husband and I just recently went to Bluefields Bay Villas for our honeymoon. Wonderful experience overall. What you get at Bluefields, you can't get anywhere else. The staff were accommodating and pleasant, the views are awe-inspiring, and the food -- you won't ever eat better food. Ever.

Higher end outdoor only dining, lunch and dinner, services are impeccable, white glove in evenings. Staff is over the top. Kudos to all and Sandals Whitehouse.
