Although the weather was cold and a little overcast our walk around Tivoli was thoroughly enjoyed. Another wonderful village/town mixing the ancient with newish, lots of interesting buildings alleyways etc etc perfect for a Sunday stroll.

The gorgeous garden with its monumental waterfalls bring beauty to life through their water play. The Villa is spectacular, too, but the gardens really spoke to me. Recommended!

This villa,including the gardens that surround, is absolutely beautiful. It is very well maintained and the views from various points are spectacular. Very photogenic for people who love photography.

These gardens and fountains are stunning! The villa itself had beautiful frescos in every room. I was in aw. 12€ for adults, children free, EU citizens get a discount. Mask is required for entry, but once in the gardens it’s not enforced. Your temperature is also taken at entry.

A lovely villa with renaissance style garden and elaborate painted rooms & ceilings. The several 100 fountains makes for an interesting photo opportunity. It would be better if you avail of a guided tour to better understand. It was not crowded in July, there were temperature checks before you enter.

Came here after 4 days in rome. Villa d'Este was the most amazing place, probably because it was unexpected. The fountains are just Amazing, visit them late afternoon when you can watch the sun going down on rome, the views are spectacular.

Incredible Villa with picturesque views. Not very comfortable/accessible to bring kids in strollers (you'll need to carry your strollers downstairs to get to the main fountain..)
Bar & Restaurant are closed in autumn-winter period ;)

This place is magical! I always recommend to see this place cause there is nothing like it. Beautiful fountains everywhere (with some funny tricks to play and full of meanings), a marvellous garden, a stunning view and an amazing palace. The Villa is in a very cute village called Tivoli!

A magical place with sublime fountains and beautiful 16th Century murals. Be prepared to walk. To see all the fountains one must descend many steps, some are steep. Remember that you will have to retrace your steps and climb the steps when you leave. Worth every step.

I really enjoyed this. There is plenty to keep one busy in Rome, but on a hot day, this estate was probably 5 degrees cooler. It was historically interesting. The fountains were lovely and everywhere one looked, one saw a new detail. There is limited accessibility, though clearly they have made a genuine attempt to get disabled folks around. The gardens are not at all accessible. The back-road drive to this place was fantastic.

Amazing gardens and fountains. Great for relaxing and soaking in some of the XVII century splendor. Well worth the admission price + the train ticket. A breath of fresh air compared to the crowded piazzas of Roma.

Fantastic place to visit on a day-trip from Rome, particularly if you combine it with Villa Adriana. The gardens and water fountains are spectacular, all driven by gravity! The views are well worth it too. It can be hard to get to, but the Metro from Centrale combined with a bus will get you there.

When in Rome, visiting this place is a must. Especially the huge gorgeous garden, one of the most beautiful of its kind, makes the visit worthwhile. Plan at least 3 hours to discover all its wonderful water fountains.
