We loved our stay at Villa Rosa. Unfortunately we booked very last minute so couldn't get any of the rooms with open sea or village view but even our partial sea view room was absolutely lovely. Like the town it's beautiful inside and even that minimalistic with a some nice little details, all mainly in white it gave us a warm and welcoming feel instantly. Everything was very clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the room overall was very bright and cozy. The terrace was amazing with view over the sea halfway blocked by a hotel opposite of the street, but as the name suggested that before we weren't surprised and it actually looks exactly as advertised on their website.
They don't have a breakfast room so you order your breakfast until the early morning and it is served to you on the terrace, if the weather allows it, which it thankfully did. The options included in the room rate are very limited (e.g. eggs are extra) but the coffee and juice is great and so it was sufficient for us.
The location is the hotel is fairly nice for Positano, just a 2-3 minutes up road to catch a local bus along the Amalfitana or about 10 minutes down to reach the beach. Many restaurants are available everywhere, my side recommendation here would be Da Vincenzo just a 10-15 minutes stroll away from Villa Rosa but there are many closer.
The staff was super friendly and kind and helped wherever they could. A lot of smiles going around here everyday.

Friendly staff, breakfast is provided on your balcony with a spectacular view each morning. Make sure you book a room on at least the third level for the best views.

This was my second stay at Villa Rosa. My first stay was 2016 in May / June. The rooms overlook the cliff / ocean; the view simply cannot be beat. It is spectacular. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained. They serve breakfast of croissants, fresh coffee and muffins in the morning with a selection of jams. This is wonderful in the large balcony with a view. My partner and I enjoyed our first stay very much.
We stayed there most recently in August 2017. It was a busy time of year and we noted that the hotel had back to back bookings on all rooms. The rooms were as expected. This year the breakfast was not as good as the year before but still quite nice. I would recommend for first time visits in Positano.response / report this review -

Very close to restaurants and the beach. The view was amazing. The staff was the best, they were so helpful in recommending places to eat and coordinating cabs. Can't wait to come back

Phenomenal views, excellent staff. I couldn't imagine our stay being any better. Rooms are slightly small, but more than made up for with enormous balconies.

Perfect view and spot in the centre but breakfast was poor and charged extra if you needed something hot or savoury served like omelette or ham

The staff have been nothing but fantastic and helpful. Breakfast served to our room was delightful. The view speaks for itself! Villa Rosa is located in just the right spot to easily access the property, walk to the beach, shop and enjoy all that Positano has to offer.

Amazing hospitality and scenery to die for. Steps leading to the beginning of "Path or the Gods" just up the road. Beach immediately below us. If you have limited climbing ability then best to stay where there is a level access. Otherwise the climb up to reception and then up to your room is well worth it. .
