Great location and service. We ordered the stew with mashed potatoes and the chicken with mushroom and olives and cleaned up our plates as the flavours were amazing. Very reasonable priced. Only wish we found this restaurant earlier in our stay here.

I've traveled to Florence many times, and must say that the city has some of the best food I've ever tried. I also have to say that Trattoria Ponte Vecchio is far superior to many of the restaurants I've visited while here. I'm currently in Florence for about five weeks taking an Italian course and in that time I must have visited Salvatore and his lovely staff at least 5 times. My favorite dishes are the fiochi and the lasagna. Also, I consider myself to be a tiramisu connoisseur, and they've got the best one I've had so far. If you're in Florence, do NOT miss this culinary experience. Not only will you leave with a happy belly, but you'll be made to feel like part of the family. ❤️

The good points: food and wine is good quality, service is polite if slow (even for Italy) and charming. 2 course lunch took 2 hours for 2 people in an empty restaurant.

The bad points (which sadly spoiled the experience): Wine list not provided, when asked for just a glass was fobbed off with "a small bottle is a glass, I will get you a small bottle" rather than shown a list with prices. Then at point of bill found out the half bottle was 12 euros (this is a lot in Italy, this is more like the cost of a full bottle of house wine).

Separate point that was the key spoiler for us: At start of meal, offered an off-menu option to try 3 small portions of 3 different mains. No mention of price, assumed it would be comparable to menu options. Felt pressured to both choose this so we did, then at point of bill discovered we had been charged for the cost of 3 mains not 2. Challenged with the owner/manager who quickly agreed that they had not been clear about pricing and took the cost of 1 main off the bill. However I am disappointed that we had to challenge, as it seems obvious that if you serve 2 mains you charge for 2 mains. Seemed a bit underhand and slightly tourist trap behaviour to whack 3 on the bill and see if it gets challenged.

Tip to the owner: No-one likes financial surprises - if you go off menu make it clear what the price will be before the customer places the order, and don't pressure people from more conservative cultures into ordering things they don't want.

Wonderful! Salvatore and Roberto are two very kind and generous people. Top notch service! Food was great - recommend the pesto and the rabbit. Will definitely come back when we are in Florence again. Ask Salvatore what he recommends- can't go wrong :-)

I don't have enough incredible things to say about Trattoria Ponte Vecchio. The service was incredible. The owner, Salvatore, waited on us personally. He basically planned our entire meal and chose a mix of various pasta dishes, meats and desserts for a group of eight. He also recommended two great wines to accompany the choices. Everything was delicious. In particular, though, the favorite was pear truffle pasta.

Salvatore was also incredibly accommodating. He adjusted the air conditioning for us after asking if we were too hot.

We will definitely be back, even though our visit in Florence is only a few days.

Good atmosphere, nice staff. Steak is not worth the price, we ordered medium but got medium rare steak. The meat is tough. The taste is just so so. If you want to eat good steak just got to "Le cappelle medicee". That place is so much better in term of steak quality with the same price range.

When you walk in you are welcomed. The staff is extremely friendly and the location is great. The food was decent and the wine they recommended was really good. Nice for dates or with friends.

Service could have been a bit more attentive, but food was fantastic. We ordered the goat cheese salad and steak frites. The steak frites came in a very large size, so totally shareable between 2 people. We ordered the molten chocolate cake which was deliciously decadent, and it came with a scoop of pistachio gelato- superb. Wine list is also fab.

I really would've given a 4 or 5 based on the atmosphere and the service, but the food I had really deserved a 1.

I've ordered a chicken dish and a side salad, chicken was not tasty at all, I would even say I can find much better on any small eatery in Firenze. The bread isn't tasty either, which is weird cause you can find tasty bread in most of restaurants in Italy. The salad? Nothing in particular.

Maybe I should've asked what's their best dish, but unfortunately that's my experience. Most people attracted here seems to be tourists, maybe because of Google, but it might be better to trust restaurants with more locals.
