Location is excellent, 5 minutes to St Peters square. Fairly friendly staff, comfortably big rooms, clean. Lots of electric sockets in the room, during day the room is bright. Well planned bathroom, with large bath and all amenities. There is also a kettle and minibar in the room. Tv is fairly big, with some English channels. Breakfast staff very nice and attentive.
Breakfast for this class of hotel could be better. Scrambled eggs are cold and tasteless, some sausages which are probably the cheapest in the Italy. No juices, just sweetened drinks. Bread selection rather lacking. The other big issue is WiFi, which is really slow in free version and often is not working at all.response / report this review -

The front desk staff had the audacity to send a bell hop chasing after us and yelling for payment while we we trying to bring luggage to our car. Our week long stay was paid for in advance and the hotel had our credit card on file. This type of behavior is unprofessional and is uncalled for. When I complained to the staff they lied and stated this was normal for them, odd, I didn't see anyone else being harassed for payment. What kind of staff does this? Usually, travellers attend to their business, luggage, plans, etc. and then check out of a hotel.
This hotel is not for individuals, it strictly caters to the tourist bus tours.
We will stay at another hotel next time in Rome.response / report this review -

Fantastic hotel. From the very outset we were well looked after. The desk staff were happy to explain things and book restaurant reservations and taxis with the utmost of patience. The rooms were clean and modern with great features. You can even see St. Peter's Basilica from the balcony if you lean out ;) Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. Would happily stay there again.

Great hotel in convenient location. It was very quiet and clean.
However, the breakfast was awful. If it wasn't for the terrible breakfast I would have awarded 4 stars.
They served not Italian food but American. They served Americano coffee, processed sausages, uncooked bacon and not Italian cured meat but wicked looking ham. Not to mention fake sweetened juice.
Worst breakfast even in American standard.
Shame on you, Michlangelo hotel, honestly as Italian would you eat them yourself? I think not.
I went to Italy to drink fabulous Italian coffee and eat excellent Italian food. Not mediocre American breakfastresponse / report this review -

My family and I absolutely loved our stay here. From check-in to check-out and everything in between, we had an amazing experience here at the Starhotels Michaelangelo. We have already said that if we decide to come back to Rome we would certainly consider staying here again. Thank you!

Hotel room was clean. I just love clean beddings and well aired rooms. Breakfast was ok too. Overall, well situated place literally 3 walkable minutes from St. Peter's Square

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with discriminating taste for great service and outstanding location. It was a very pleasant place to stay while I was travelling in Rome. I salute the staff for making our stay a very pleasant one. A++++++++++++++

This was a fantastic hotel in all aspects. Location, friendly staff, reasonable price and close to the Vatican city. Myself and my wife were extremely satisfied and would recommend this hotel highly.

The rooms are okay sized for its pricing. The food they provide at breakfast is not the best. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. I went to a lesser-starred hotel that had both a nice gym and a nice pool that was half inside and half outside. Maybe it's irrelevant but it was disappointing to me. Overall, I would rate the hotel 4 stars. I recommend staying at this place if you're traveling to Rome.

Excellent property. Stayed here in August of 2015 and returning for another visit in December 2016. Easy walk to St. Peter's, the front desk is top notch. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Modern conveniences. Highly recommend the property for those looking for a U.S. styled hotel with enough Italian charm to make you feel at home in Rome.
