April 2017 Ok.so lots of improvments and really great and friendly staff!
Everything great especially breakfast BUT please they need to allow english speaking guests the opportunity to watch English language TV channels.!
And also you need to explain very clearly in the rooms, which channel this would be on.
This is not a big demand. This is a VERY reasonable request.

I stayed her in Sept 2016 - perhaps many of the issues have been corrected.
CONS:
Reception staff can be brusque, disorganised and unhelpful and not as efficient as they could or should.
Numerous issues such as air-conditioning systems not working correctly or as they should. Various things broken in the room, lights not working. Whose checking all these kinds of things?
Its also not acceptable in this day and age to have a TV with no english language channels. FIX IT! SPEND SOME MONEY TO SORT OUT THESE RELATIVELY MINOR ISSUES. Many things in the rooms are broken , old or in need of a refit, renovation, replacing. IF a guest informs reception about these issues then it is expected that these will be fixed, If it cant be then reception needs to then inform the guest. THIS IS VERY BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMON COURTESY. THIS IS NOT RUSSIA THIS IS A MODERN DEVELOPED CIVILISED WESTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRY.
Somebody needs to go through each room and the hotel in detail and make a note to what needs to be done
You'll also need to be aware that the noise from the harbour, if you happen to have a room which looks out in this direction is very loud. This is especially more of a problem if the air-conditioning is not working
Nothing wrong with breakfast and some lovely rooms in an historic building in a very lovely city.
Staff try hard. The owners need to spend some money. Hotel has not lounge area or bar area.
Room Tip: harbour front rooms can be noisy at night and wkends if windows needing to be openresponse / report this review -
