Beautiful hotel room which basically is a 1 bedroom apartment. It was extremely neat and clean. The balcony had nice views looking out to the mountains and was pretty picturesque. However, it is not worth 5 stars because the TV and wifi didn't work (I personally really didn't care) and there were small holes and cracks in the walls. The owner was really nice too and most likely would have changed my room is I had asked but again I didn't really care.
The neighborhood is also full of African / Muslim refugees which I didn't like, but in all Italian cities I've been to in the past month this is now the new norm for areas around train stations.
Btw it's highly advised that you know Italian or the Sicilian dialect in Messina because no shop owner or other person I've encountered there knows any English and pointing to what you want won't help you entirely.response / report this review -

They didn't open the door for 4 hours!! We booked in advance and told them our arrival time!!
