An oasis of the highest hospitality, good style and taste
In August 2021, we spent the first nights of our Amalfi and Cilento tour in the "Palace of the Baron" and - even after almost 6 months - we can not get out of the raving. In this noble accommodation simply everything fits together:
• The breathtaking location with a view of Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri,
• the venerable former palace with stylishly furnished, spacious rooms,
• a wonderfully fragrant garden,
• fresh and extremely deliciously prepared dishes for breakfast or dinner and
• - last but not least - an exceptionally hospitable team.
Here you feel appreciated as a guest beyond measure! The accommodation offers an ideal starting point for excursions to the Sorrento Peninsula or the Amalfi Coast. Especially convenient is the shuttle service offered by the Palazzo to downtown Sorrento and nearby restaurants.
We thank Fabio, our "Baron", who amazed us and the other guests every day with his life stories and wisdom. One could write a book or make a movie about his life - bestseller prizes would be guaranteed.
But our thanks also go to the whole team of the Palazzo for their cordiality, courtesy and kindness: from the reception, to the gardeners, the cooks (inclusive Fabio), the shuttle driver Alessandro to the housekeeping. And not to forget: Barbara, Fabio´s beautiful and smart daughter.
So, if you're looking for something special, this is the place for you.

We found this hotel almost entirely by chance. But we have never this surprised about the quality, welcomness and happy attitude the hosts have provided us. The place is magnificent and they are very caring for your every needs.

The exceptionality of this place is emphasized by all the previous reviews, and I completely agree. Here, just some additions from my personal experience last week-end: if you can, come from Naples by boat. In late October/ early November (perfect time), take the 5:15 pm boat to enjoy the sunset on the magnificent crossing of the bay. (The arrival time will be perfect for the evening and dinner). I was met at the pier in Sorrento by a big Land Rover to be driven to the Palazzo which is relatively small, so you don’t feel like in a hotel but as a guest of honor in an aristocratic family. That is how I would feel during my entire stay. When you come to your room and to the balcony over the bay, WOW shock. I was then driven to an excellent restaurant by the sea, where you are greeted with the feeling that the owner is a friend of the Palazzo, & then picked at 10:30 back “home”. For the night, the mattress is one of the best I had ever experience (an essential detail that is often neglected). In the morning, enchanting atmosphere at breakfast, outside under a tent, next to the gardens and pool. Friendly people, attentive and discrete, whom you leave with a pinch in the heart and a resolution to come back.

WOW, this place is something magical. The relaxed admosphere, the nice hosts who do everything to make your stay special. They recommend the best restaurants in the area, and their breakfast is something not often seen in Italy. The pool and the view are worth mentioning as well, and everything is taken care of. The food one night at the Palazzo, was one of the best I had in Italy, so yes I can say: I will come back here. Sorrento is just a short drive away, but here you will find the calm and peace where Sorrento is a buzzing little city.

Absolutely loved the Palazzo Barone, all the staff is beyond fabulous, they welcome you as part of the family. Barbara, Fabio, Alessandro, Susanna and all the people that work here go above and beyond to make sure you have a fabulous holiday. The rooms are clean and modern, the view is breathtaking and the food is all home cooked by excellent chefs. The food is the real standout(!!), the best ingredients a lot sourced from the garden in the hotel is the best we ate in Italy, and we tried a lot of restaurants. Nothing was as good as food at Palazzo Barone. For the Remote workers and Instagramers, the Wi-Fi is lighting fast across the Hotel grounds. My only advice is to either not bring a car or if you do, bring a small one, there is parking but the way to the hotel is down a very narrow path and the hotel parking is also very tight to get in and out. The hotel staff helps you park but I still advise bringing a Scooter / Vespa, small car or no car and make use of the shuttle service. Overall 5/5 holiday, no complaints.
