The house and the terrace are quite beautiful, the sea is directly in front of the hostel. It seems to be one of the cheapest hostels in the surroundings. However, the 'beach' consists of huge rocks, concrete and a promenade, there is no sandy beach. We booked three days and had to change the room after one night and as a result of that just did not have a room for four hours on the second day. Further, breakfast is provided but very simple. WiFi is only working directly next to the reception. The quality of the rooms differs significantly from one to the other. We would not have cared too much about this inconvenience if the staff had treated us nicely. But the staff is incredibly unfriendly, not welcoming and quite incapable of providing the most basic service. Moreover, it seems impossible to find affordable food in the area.

Offering a great price with an amazing view, Ostello Tergeste would be the top choice for backpackers on a budget. The facilities are clean and up to date. The only drawback is the location. I dont mind the 15 minute bus ride into the city; rather, you have to take a bus to go to the nearest market. On a positive note, the water is literally a few meters away.

Paid extra for one bunk in a four-bunk room - which ironically seemed to be the smallest room in the building. It was so small that if one person needed to get something the other three would have to get into their bunks and wait. Breakfast was served 45 minutes late and consisted of stale cereals and tepid juice. I asked an employee if there was any tap water and he took my cup, grumbled at me and set it in the dirty dishes.
A bunkmate's linens had what looked like menstrual stains all over it. No air-conditioning and the room stunk heavily of B.O. it's nearly 3€ for a small towel, as none are provided.

I had a very good stay in here, the place is truly wonderful and proper and the price is very good. The breakfast is a little poor, it could be improved, but in general it's a very good place.

Beat view ever! And only for 18-35€! The breakfast is small but you should not eat to much breakfast in Italy anyway.Triers has the best Pizza, so keep space in your tummy!

This hostel had the best view of any hostel I've stayed in. Try to get a room facing the sea to fully take advantage of all this hostel has to offer. My room was clean and everything worked correctly. The staff went out of their way to help me and all the other hostellers time and again. It is a little outside of the city centre (20 min by bus) but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You wouldn't have such a great view of Trieste otherwise. 5/5 I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have stayed in many HI Hostels around the world and know that I can count on them to be safe, clean, and friendly. Unfortunately I can not say that about Ostello Tergeste Hostel in Miramare Trieste. The hostel was dirty and is in need of repairs. Our sink faucet handle was broken, our room was dirty, quiet hours started at midnight, but was not enforced. At 1:30am I went to see if the noise in the surrounding rooms could be addressed, but was not. I feel that you need to know about this property. I will not stay here again and can not give a good review.
