Everyone must go once through the Ballaro street market to fully enjoy Mediterranean market similar to those in Tunisia or Marocco. The voice of the sellers who sing in a typical Arabic swing what they are selling can be understood only by native sicilians. Tourists can only look and try to understand what is sold. The price is due to variations as selling and buying is a sort of theater that only natives can play

As a citizen, I have to say that this is a really poor market, that has eventually followed more money rules than traditions in these years.

There are phew honest vendors in there, but some others aren't reliable at all.

It's not a place for tourists, although, to many foreigners this poor context may be confused with folklore or food traditions related place.

An authentic, old fashion market that reminds me of markets in Morocco. Lots of street food. Didn't dare to taste everything since some places were dirty. The fresh pomegranate juice and granita was really good.

A really huge market to buy fresh groceries. You can find here almost everything you need and even some delicious street food. It is advised that to visit this place go by walk and explore it on foot and enjoy.
