From what I could tell, La Prociutteria is a small chain. We went to two different locations while on vacation in Rome. Its a great place to get lunch. The boards are beautiful and packed with delicious meats and cheeses. You can select what size board you want, and the staff will help you choose. I also had a really good local IPA beer when I was there.

We have seen the excellent reviews here and for all we know, the food might be God's gift for humankind. Wouldn't know, as we were not able to eat here. Although the description says the place serves until midnight, we were not served although we arrived here before 23.20 - they said they cannot sell food because the register is closed, but we can buy drinks (which sounds wierd, unless they are registering sales of booze separately?). Wish they would be more straightforward and list the actual serving hours (unreasonable to expect one to guess that one hour before closing the place would stop serving foods). Not as professional as expected according to everyone's description.

This place was perfect was a quick, easy and delicious bite for lunch. The small meat and cheese platter with a basket of bread and half of bottle of wine was more than enough for my husband and I. We wish we could have tried the sandwiches. They looked so good too. I highly recommend this place for quick lunch.

This "restaurant" is mind blowing. A taste of the real Italy. It's small, it's loud, it's crowded and you should be ready to queue. However, once you start eating you'll find it's special.
They just serve boards of antipasti. Everything about it was amazing and the flavours were brilliantly balanced. There's also cheap delicious wine available. Highly highly recommend.response / report this review -

Brilliant place, great food, nice people, good prices. I ordered pasta for 6.5 euro, which was brilliant. For dessert, I had cheesecake, which was 4 euro, but absolutely fabulous, and a lot of effort was put into the decoration. Great music, great atmosphere. Yes, you will sit at small tables and you have to 'serve yourself', but that is absolutely worth it, as the alternative is a 10 euro tourist pizza with no care put into it.

It certainly is different. This is a small little deli that servers cold cuts, cheese & bread on a board. They don't serve here as they don't have a restaurant licence. It's self service once you've ordered your selection and it's a tiny place with stools. You're very likely to be brushing backs with other guests in the restaurant or be sitting right in front of the toilet door, but none of it bothered any of us. It's a very friendly atmosphere and worth a visit for something different and the really tasty meats.

This out of the way place was great. The music can be a little loud but the food and service are very good. Only a few table that are close so you make some new friends when it's busy. Had some good wine, cheese, and dried meats for a snack before dinner. Give it a try. Ciao

Slightly touristy, which is understandable, given the location, but totally worth the wait. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff is happy to recommend items which are to your taste. The place itself is tiny, so be prepared to wait at peak times. Try the different Alpine cheeses, especially the soft cheese with honey, and the local wines! We liked this place so much we came here three times.

This is an extremely small place that seats are there in little people. The sign says that this is not a restaurant so serve yourself. Although they already have a tax for dining in, they do encourage to tip the waitress for their boob job and the waiter for his hair implants. The ambience is really nice and cozy. Settings is limited because the restaurant is quite narrow. The service was good, not extraordinary like we were used too in America. This place definitely is more of a bar/social lounge. They have a huge wine selection of all the wine connoisseur out there. Their charcuterie board is huge, even though the one that i ordered was meant for one , but it actually serves two easily. The meat was delicious, the cheese was not to my liking, but it's worth the try. If they switched out the cheese, it would make the food more pleasant. The olive was savory, and really hit the spot.

Very charming, especially the sign saying "we're not a restaurant, so "
Got two of the most popular sandwiches: roast pork and prosciutto and mozzarella. Sandwiches were small, and were not "out of this world" as reviews would have you believe.
House wine was not good (I'm no expert, but I know tasty from not so tasty) and was more expensive than we've seen in other places.
I think Anthony Bourdain is responsible for all the hype surrounding this 'not-a-restaurant'.response / report this review -

The overall experience was fantastic. The antipasto plate was out of this world. We had the middle sized plate for three. I have no idea how big the large size for three would be.

Fantastic, yes we had to wait a bit although food was brilliant. Great service, was allowed to eat a leisure and knowledgeable advice on different cured meats. A must go when in Rome.

Cool and hip little restaurant. Great value for the food you receive and it's a really cool casual restaurant. Younger clientele and atmosphere leads to a really mood enhancing vibe.

Wow! This place offers a great selection of food and is definitely not a tourist trap. Their meats and cheeses are so fresh and tasty! It's must try, just be prepared to wait. It's also a small place, but it's worth it!
