Interesting, unique hotel dedicated to the founder of the Red Cross. Fascinating concept and clean, however basic, facilities. Staff is nice but not overly fast/proactive. Each room is named and decorated after a particular stage of JHD's life. This is definitely an interesting idea, but the execution could have been improved: bleak times in the founder's life make for very bleak room names, which some people might find upsetting: "ten tons of solitude" and "beginning of the end" are only two examples of rooms I wouldn't love to sleep in.
Fantastic hotel! Eclectic and quirky. Very clean and tidy. Enjoyed .we stayed in snail room and open bathroom was amaizing. Just one minus is hotel restaurant, quite disappointing but you don't need to dine there anyway.
Great food and location
Large room, newly designed, free large parking
Design and high service level
Just perfect: great interior, clean room, excellent service, free parking
Beautiful Hotel. A Pearl of art in Italy With a single nane for each room. A poetry in Desenzano area. Must try!
we were looking for a nice hotel to stay near the lakes and found this one.
the initial impression that you get once in the hotel is that someone let an expressionist artist go wild with the design. you have art scattered all around, each room has a different name and décor. there are no door knobs to the rooms etc.
once you overcome the initial shock the hotel is pretty great.
it has its own parking garage, the room is very clean & spacious, good breakfast (although the seating arrangements could be better).
the staff very polite and helpful.
and Desenzano is only a 15 minute drive away.
had a very good time here, recommended!
