We just arrived at Il Principe Hotel and have a problem with the smell in our room. I have asthma and the room reeks of perfume. We've had the windows open for hours and have that hasn't helped. We've tried to get help from Carmine who is on duty and she has been dismissive. It's been very disappointing.

Good location however management structure needs improvement as does operational procedures. In many instances there just were not enough staff. One example was when the bar was unmanned. A guest had been waiting for a while, even with the Director of the hotel in the vicinity of the bar area and would or should have been aware of the issue. Even after reception called for the barman, he did not appear. The guest gave up waiting. In this instance, it was for another member of staff - i.e. the Director to serve he guest, undoubtedly protocol prohibits this, but it shouldn't.
WiFi was not working anywhere other than a small area next to reception. Receptionists should have informed guests of this fact upon check in.
In Room TV : no English channels. American CNBC or CNN don't count. How difficult can it be to fix up English TV channels in this day and age?
Additional coffee machines needed - only one and that's not acceptable for a busy breakfast room. You'll also need to employ more breakfast staff when hotel full with groups.
Rooms can be small dark, dingy and claustrophobic and some are 'windowless' unless you accept a small 'frosted' window which looks out onto air-conditioning units

It was not a nice experience.
1 - Parking place are not available for everyone. For me not. For another customer that came after me they offer to take care if his car.
2 - Internet didn’t work in the room
3 - by check-out the lady at the reception desk was very unfriendly.

I'll Principe Hotel was really easy to find while walking thanks to multiple signs leading you to the hotel. Check in was easy and painless even with a relatively late arrival. The rooms are well appointed and clean for the most part. One of the two rooms we rented had paint peeling from the ceiling, so that was kind of off putting. Overall a quality place to stay with great staff near the heart of Catania with many attractions in easy walking distance.

The hotel was in a great location with very good service. Bed was pretty stiff with awkward outlet port locations but otherwise would stay there again

The room was okay although it was not very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was a little poor. The eggs were not warm and there was only a small selection of food (pretty normal in Italy). The Nestlé machine is awful but you can ask the staff for better Italian beverages. The location is very central inside the city and you have a nice view from the roof top "garden". We had a good stay in this hotel and would come back.

Don't get to carried away of fancy pictures. I ordered a suite and upon arrival the suite itself looked very tired. Marks everywhere on the walls after luggage. The second floor had a hole in the wall with sigaret buts in it. Dark not cozy at all. I politely asked to be checked out and get a refund but that was impossible because the manager was not there. For 300 euros it's was below all standards. We decided to take another normal room and it was just fine. I'm still waiting on the refund though.

Nice hotel with decent breakfast buffet, stylish rooms and gym - gym is very poor though, consists of 2 low grade treadmills and bikes, weight machine and a few dumb bells. Free wifi in rooms, if you can connect. Overall, a great hotel within walking distance to the main shopping streets and the marina.
