This restaurant offered the best meal I had during my four days in Assisi, even compared to Rome! The road up to this place is steep and can be a challenge, but it is certainly worth the trouble. Once you are there, you have the most magnificent view over the city and the valleys below - it is stunning, I promise. No further comments on the food, it is as close to divine as it can possibly be. Go for it!
One of the best accommodations for school groups. In the city centre and the food is more than delicious.
Bell'hotel.
Cibo buono e ben servito. Personale disponibile, camere sempre pulite ed in ordine.
Consigliato sia per persone singole, famiglie o anche per gruppi di comitive numerose ed oratori.
Really liked the staff and how they handled our group of 50 students. :D
Assisi itself is a beautiful place with much to discover and if you don't spend the priority of your vacation time inside in your room, this hotel is for you. It doesn't offer much but is a surely acceptable place for spending your nights. Beautiful sunsets can be seen from above the hotel if you walk a little hill up to the La Rocca fortress. The sunrises are also lovely, you just have to wake up pretty early. ;)
Very nice rooms and a lovely restaurant. Friendly helpful staff.
My wife and I were supposed to stay at the La Rocca for two nights. When we checked in and got to our room, it was apparent that we had made a big mistake. All the other rooms on our floor were filled with college boys smoking and making a lot of noise, all with their doors open. (This may sound like I'm some old fart, but it's not my idea of a relaxing vacation.) When we asked to be moved to a quieter room, we were told there weren't any others. We had to find other accomodations in Assisi and checked out. When I explained the reason we were leaving to the lady at the desk, she simply said "it's a hotel, you have to expect some noise". It may be a good value for travelers on a tight budget, such as a group of students, but for an adult couple hoping to have a relaxing vacation and get some sleep, it was bad. We were happy to pay double to get a nice room in a proper hotel. We later met a local tour guide and shared our experience. She was not at all surprised and said she would never recommend that any of her customers stay at the La Rocca.
