Perfect place for holiday. Super boat trip to Lipari Islands, Sicilia and scootertrip to near cities Tropea, Zambrone very nice and still clever sea

Hotel molto bello, direi di lusso, la spiaggia antistante è splendida con l`acqua simile a quella della Sardegna, all orizzonte si vede Stromboli. Chiedete preventivo prima di prenotare è costoso ma ne vale la pena.

Whoever the young man is who was working reception on the afternoon of June 21st, needs to be taken off front desk. His bizarre behaviour and attempts at 'mind games' made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy.

In first of all I have to thank to whole hotel stuff for their well done job. Especially to animators and to the chef, who cooks fantastic.
I have to say that before our family holiday I was a bit worried, because I never was in south of Italy and everyone just claims that it is very poor and dirty region. Well, maybe this is truth, but if you consider all the circumstances the Calabrian region is very nice to visit. The Italians are very friendly nation and doing all with their hearth. This is something what I could really enjoy as well in this hotel.
The hotel residence is well situated directly at very beautiful sand beach, but it has its price: It is unable to arrive to this hotel with larger bus. You have to use a shuttle or go by walk downhill. However the environment and the sea-view are worth of this.
The accommodation is very various, we was in a new "Junior Suite", but I saw there many different types. This was fine for us with a little daughter. The rooms are clean, large, the air-condition works perfect.
However, if you are from Central or Western Europe you have to be aware that 4 stars hotels are in Italy (actually the same in Greece or Spain) not the same as in your home-country. So the tolerance has to be in that case a bit wider. This hotel in west Europe would be maybe only 2-3 stars worth, so be this aware.
Other-side I cant concern on the stuff. We had always cleaned room, eat well in very nice restaurant with sea-view, had a lot of fun in clean and well designed pool.
An extra point is the animation program. As we have 4 years old daughter we was very happy as she enjoyed the daily baby dance or some other shows in the hotel´s theater.
Back to the restaurant: the meal was perfect, chef was always onsite, so you can directly discuss with him the ingredients and recipe.
In Calabria is bit harder to speak with some in English/German, but we always found a way how to communicate and learned few Italian words as well :-) It was only a barrier for my daughter as she speaks only her native language in her age of 4.
We have visited the country as well, so sharing my very positive experience on this place as well.
Of course, you will find 100 things in this hotel, which can be done better, but any which is crucial, so enjoy the holiday.
The sea is usually very warm and perfect for swimming also for small children. Be carefully, as sometimes you may see there Medusa, but this is only when the sun is more days shining and there is no wind. We have the luck that we have vary weather, so it was not so hot all days. Last thing to mention: the prices are in hotel very high, for example 1 can of Cola was 2,50 EUR, so count with this.response / report this review
