Ho soggiornato una settimana ad agosto in camera superior con la mia ragazza. La nostra stanza era di nuovo arredamento, dotata di frigo bar molto utile e di aria condizionata, una manna per il caldo di questa estate. Purtroppo sprovvista di terrazza, sebbene fosse compresa all'atto della prenotazione, non c'era più disponibilità quando l'ho fatto presente. L'unica finestra si affacciava in una zona comune al personale delle cucine, un panorama tutto fuor che bello, da dove arrivava puzza di fritto a volte, che risentivo nei miei asciugamani k lasciavo al sole. Il mio pensiero sarebbe di riservare certe camere per brevi soggiorni e non settimanali come il mio. L'unica pecca di questa esperienza.
La strada di accesso non è molto bella ma con la nostra Fiat 500 non abbiamo avuto problemi. La struttura è molto bella e ben arredata, con tutti i comfort.
Gli spazi comuni sono ben organizzati e divisi per lasciare il giusto spazio a tutti: sala comune con TV, bar, tavolo da gioco, scacchi, un biliardo molto bello. Varie sere siamo stati allietati dalla musica di un pianoforte posto accanto al bar, egregiamente suonato durante la cena.
Il panorama è bellissimo, la piscina molto bella e grande si affaccia sul golfo di Portoferraio, subito accanto il bar con tavoli interni e all'aperto, dove viene servita la colazione a buffet.
Vicino alla piscina una jacuzzi e il nuovissimo centro benessere, bello e ben arredato con personale competente e molto disponibile. Sauna e bagno turco sono compresi per gli ospiti e con un piccolo contributo di 5€ viene dato un momento di relax con biscottini e tisana. Una volta scoperto non ne ho più fatto a meno!
La colazione continentale è buonissima, ho trovato prodotti di qualità che altrove mancano (come lo yogurt di Vipiteno, buonissimo!), frutta sempre fresca e molto buona. Pane anche integrale, per me un must. La cena inizia alle otto, un'ora prima sarebbe opportuno secondo me. Noi siamo arrivati sempre in orario e abbiamo trovato un buffet ricchissimo, tanto che ci siamo fermati a quello molte volte, buonissimo e per tutti i gusti! Il pesce abbondava ogni sera. In seguito, a scelta tra mare e terra, un primo e un secondo.
Una gran nota positiva per l'area gioco e fitness. Due bei campi da tennis e attrezzatura per palestra resa disponibile da mia richiesta. Mai avuto un servizio così. Ho saputo che hanno da poco preso in gestione la struttura e stanno ristrutturando tutto anche giorno per giorno su necessità degli ospiti.
Ringrazio Massimo per aver reso piacevole la mia vacanza e tutto il personale sempre pronto e disponibile ad ogni richiesta.

Not what you expect if you look for a 4* hotel room. The room was more like in a hostel from the 80's.

We were delighted with our stay at the Relais delle Picchiaie; from the moment we arrived, the service was excellent and on a par with much more expensive and higher-rated hotels. Staff spoke excellent English and were more than happy to help us with our requests and were always friendly and welcoming.

The grounds are great and very relaxing, particularly the small terraces, shaded outdoor lounge areas, and the pool and jacuzzi area. Just get there early to ensure you get a sun lounger! The tennis courts weren't in great condition but we saw people using them most days, which would indicate that they are certainly useable!

The location of the hotel is perfect for those who want to get away from the bustle of the island; perched on its hilltop, the views across the bay are spectacular and the lush gardens provide a welcome contrast to the dusty, hot coastline. You'll definitely need a car or motorbike to stay at this hotel, as it's a few miles from towns and beaches.

The room was great for the two of us, with an alcove sufficiently large for the single bed therein and ideal for a child or third adult. The bathroom was very narrow, but was useable and the shower was modern and powerful: ideal at the end of hot days. The room was a little noisy and due to the tiled floors and some inconsideration, we were disturbed a little by noise from other guests and it was difficult to keep quiet. However, the air conditioning in the room was a godsend after high temperatures during the day.

Aside from the small bathroom, my only negative comment would be that the hotel or local residents pay to have the small, steep, narrow private road re-paved. The potholes and uneven surface clipped the bottom of my car on several occasions and this isn't ideal, compared with the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Beautiful villa on top of a hill with an amazing view on the bay, comfortable rooms and good restaurant. The owner and the staff are always available and helpful.
