Very nice and comfort hotel with comfortable accomodation and very polite staff. With pool and chapel. Also with view to shrine of p. Pio.

The hotel is not located within the main residential part of San Giovanni Rotondo, and is usually surrounded by more hotels, and some of the highlights of the place. The area felt a little barren. We could not find any supermarkets nearby, though that may change at the time of your visit.
English is not a strong point of many residents here, so it might be wise to bring a dictionary or have apps that can translate for you.
The hotel itself is decent, peaceful. There didn't seem to be a lot of employees there. Some of the rooms in the hotel are a little hard to close completely, so make sure that your room is locked tight before you head out. Some of the hallways were kept dark (probably to save up on electricity?), which sometimes gave me an eerie vibe. WiFi is available for free, speeds were good (around 4-10 MBPS download and less than 1 MBPS upload at best), though setting it up is a little unpleasant. The room I stayed in had a TV, a fridge, and a balcony shared with the room next door, but there were no (complimentary) bottles of water and no hotels slippers. There were no English channels on the TV either. The bed was adequate: the mattress and pillows were not the most comfortable, but certainly enough to get me through the night.
The hotel has an outdoor pool (which was green.. there was a storm the day we went there so that might have led to the water's discoloration) and a nice garden. There are 2 restaurants. The breakfast they provide consists of pastries (lots and lots of pastries), yogurt, cereal, egg, salami, ham, cheese, some fruits, and eggs. They don't change up the menu as far as I could tell. Both restaurants don't open for dinner until 7:30 in the evening, so don't try coming earlier than that. I only managed to try the restaurant on the ground floor, "Salt and Pepper." I had some kind of stewed lamb, I don't remember the name (again, English is not a strong point here), but it was cooked beautifully.
Overall, it was a decent hotel. I'm not sure if it is the best one in San Giovanni Rotondo, but it's a good place to stay for a night or two.response / report this review
