Beautiful hotel that serves its excellent breakfast on their top floor terrace which has great views! Clean, comfortable, cozy, quiet and modern rooms. The staff was attentive to our needs. Located in the heart of the Amalfi commercial area. It is a short walk from the ferry dock and the bus stop.

This review is for the hotel owner, Lucibello Pauloa, who also runs the sister company Apartments Amalfi Design.

First of all, you should know that I am not the kind of person that enjoys writing bad reviews or writes them often. When we made this booking, we took a lot of care to book accommodations that included wifi. For work, I need to check emails periodically throughout the night (every 3hrs) as that is the "work day" hours back home. We booked 2 nights in the "blue room" of apartments Amalfi Design which looked to be a nicely updated room and very clearly included wifi. Upon arrival, we were moved to the "red room" which we were told was an upgrade because it had a balcony. The owner, Lucibello Paola, went on to say that the blue room we booked was "broken" and that unfortunately we would need to be moved off the premises to another apartment that she managed for our second night because guests would be arriving to the red room. She promised that it was the same as the room we originally booked except in a different place. We agreed reluctantly because we knew this would mean having to move our big bags and get settled in once again in a new place, but we didn't want to be difficult. Upon arriving at the new apartment, we found it to be much older and not even close to the quality of accommodations we paid for. Regardless of this, we were still willing to stay there. It was only after we found out that neither wifi nor cell service was available in the room that we decided to give them a call and see what could be done. I spoke with Paola on the phone personally and calmly explained to her my need for wifi and our intentionality in booking a room with wifi. I asked if there was another apartment or hotel room she could move us to for the night. She said there was nothing and offered us a free breakfast. Though it was a kind gesture, it obviously did nothing to solve my problem of needing wifi. She also recommended I walk to the hotel and use their wifi when I needed. Again because of the time in which I was checking emails it didn't make sense for me to get out of bed and walk to the hotel every three hours. This is why we took great care to make sure all our booking included wifi in the room. When she could not find a solution, she finally said ok then you may leave if you want and I will refund you the second night stay. The call ended abruptly and my wife and I immediately started walking around to find new accommodations. When we found a room somewhere else I tried to call Paola to let her know and her phone was off so I walked into hotel Amalfi and had them call her to inform her of our decision. They also were unable to reach her.

The next morning on our way out I stopped by to confirm that she got our message and that we would be refunded as promised for the second night and she denied me on both accounts. She argued that somehow the upgrade we were given the first night made up for the second night. She also tried to say that wifi was not a big deal to her so it didn't matter very much and that furthermore it was available in the hotel. I tried to explain that the upgrade was obviously never our intention. It was not our fault that our room wasn't available. I also made it clear to her that thought hotel may have wifi I would not be walking to the hotel every 3hrs to work in the middle of the night.

Now a week later I have sent her a couple emails asking for our 2nd nights refund and she continues to argue the same points over and over with me and will not give us the money as she initially promised.

I would strongly advise to not choose Apartments Amalfi Design or hotel Amalfi for your stay in Amalfi. There is no guarantee you will actually get the accommodations you pay for and you can rest assured that when there is an issue, holding on to your money is their top priority.

I had an amazing time with my wife and plus one. The hotel could not be in a better location for both scenic views and in town shopping. The room itself was very spacious and the tiled floors where a particular favorite of my wife.

been there in october 2015. We both would have loved to stay, because it was a charming hotel with a breakfast terrace with a great view.
The only thing "bad" to mention was that our room was located right under the breakfast room so it was a bit noisy in the moring.
Otherwise it was great stay, nice and helpful staff, good breakfast and great place.
