This was one of the most incredible journeys of my life. It was all too beautiful and the guides (Susi + Marina) were second to nonevery accommodating / understanding.fun, cheerful and caring! From the bus service to Badia, to the hotel and Refugio stays and did I mention the food and beautiful accommodations with spectacular views. The praise goes on and on! I hope to be back!

Outstanding experience, from bike rental to lodging to Alta Badia ski passes, and everything in between. All went perfectly and made our enjoyment of the gorgeous scenery and culture of the Dolomites that much easier.

In June 2017 we completed the Holomites best of Alta Via 1 + 2 mountain bike trip. The trip was excellent and we would travel with Holomites again and recommend them to friends. They replied to all our enquiries very promptly and were able to tailor the standard trip that they offered to create a longer trip for us. The mountain biking was varied: a mixture of natural single tracks ( in the forest, through alpine meadows and high amongst rocky mountain passes ) , wider forest roads and purpose built trails. The Dolomites scenery was fantastic and a hut to hut trip was a great way to see it. The accommodation - four nights in huts and five nights at the Hotel Gardenazza in Pedraces was of a high standard ( the huts were more like mountain hotels ) and the food was great - home made pasta, ice cream , coffee and cakes. Our guide Chris tailored the trip to our technical skills and pace and was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The Hotel Gardenazza was lovely: mountain views, clean, modern, friendly, family run hotel, staff very helpful, great food with local specialities ( one of the nicest small hotels we have stayed in ). Thank you for a really great holiday.

I think I first got in touch with Holimites by Instagram, while looking for a guided tour around the Dolomites. After changing lots of emails with Tatiana, with a lot of requests from me, Holimites made a perfect proposal, within my budget and schedule.
I went to the meeting at Badia expecting a nice week of trail running, without any comfort and eating basically gels and bars. I was so wrong! The rifugios selected for the tour were much more comfortable than I could ever imagine! Most offered rooms for drying clothes and shoes and one even had a sauna included in the price! The rooms were well equipped with comfy beds, duvets and towels, hot individual shower and body/hair liquid soap and most had individual power outlets for each bed.
The group was composed of four runners, including me and the guide, Richard. And our regular day would start around 7:00 with a nice breakfast, with bread, prosciutto, cheese, yogurt, musli, nuts, fuit juice and of course, all possible types of Italian coffee. Around 8:00 was the cut-off for luggage hand out (luggage was taken by Holimites staff from one rifugio to another) ad after that we departed for the day’s journey. After some 3 hours of running and taking pictures, first rifugio stop for a coffee and cake (linzer torte or apfelstrudel), the only meal not included in the tour. After a few more hours, lunch break at second rifugio of the day. One primo or secondo, plus one dessert or coffee. With renewed energies, we faced the last strecht of the day until last rifugio were we would spend the night. At arrival, leave dirt shoes to dry at the drying room, pick your luggage and then shower. During our tour, Holimites also had a trekking tour going on, and that group would sleep in the same rifugios as ours, so, until dinner, time to chat and change experiences among runners and hikers. As for the other meals, dinner was no disappointment. Lots of local specialties, usually with salad, bread, primo, secondo and dessert. After dinner, a few grappas to relax – not included – and go rest for next day.
Richard, our guide deserves a full review for himself! Great guide and great guy! Always taking pictures and explaining us local customs, geography and history. Very attentive when the trail got less obvious and willing to take us to unplanned cool spots. By the way, I was not part of their group, but trekking guides Suzy and Marina were also very nice to all people during our stops at the rifugios.
Overall, the holiday planned by Holimites exceeded all my expectations! The trails, the comfort at the rifugios, the food and mainly, the dynamic that Richard arranged for the group. He made us all feel included in spite of our completely different backgrounds and running ability. Great week! Could not recommend more!

By far the best organised, most helpful and best value cycling package I've come across. The communication before the holiday was excellent, any changes we needed to make were dealt with easily, the bikes were incredibly set-up and of a superb quality and the welcome pack included everything we needed for a superb week's cycling. Thank you!

    Complimenti

We have spent 3 days on a hut-by-hut MTB trip organised by Holimites namely Gioria and Andreas (guide) as an event organised for our clients. I can fully recommend Holimites to everyone: organisation, communictation, care, service, accommodation, guidance everything worked just perfect. Looking forward to come back for the other tours.

My husband, Dov, and I found Giorgia and the rest of the Holimites Staff via a random internet search, and boy, are we glad we did. We decided last year December (2012) that we wanted to hike Alta Via 1, a challenging, amazing hut-to-hut trekking hike in the Italian Dolomites. At first Dov attempted to organize things himself but it soon became clear that local assistance was needed. After a few email rounds with Giorgia we knew we were in good hands; every email was responded to within 24 hrs, or a message came back that they were 'out in the mountains' and when they would be able to respond. No matter how many questions Dov fired to Giorgia, and he is a persistent detail person, so there must have been over a hundred, every question was answered. The trip began with our arrival in Venice on August 31, 2013; Giorgia had made all the hotel reservations from beginning, in Venice to the end, our last day 22 days later in Rome, and each one was perfect and in ideal central locations. The next day we made our complex trip to the north: involving train, bus, another bus, and the Holimite van, for a total of over 4 hrs of transportation. All perfectly on-time, in fact, the Holimite van waited for us, we never had to wait for them. in hotel GranAnder they expected us with great enthusiasm; after a gourmet dinner Richard, a rep from Holimite came to brief the two of us on our hike; he talked to us for over 2 hrs, brought us a detailed summary of each hiking day, emergency phone numbers for several Holimite staff, 3 detailed, color coded maps with each day marked clearly (which became our closest allies during the hike), water-bottles, sleeping sacks and a lot of advice. On Tuesday, 9/3 at 8am Susie from Holimites came to pick us, and a father-son team from Oklahoma. She was the most up-beat and wonderful driver, and we all hugged her good-bye upon our arrival at the trail beginning at Lago Di Braie. During the approx. 90 min drive we learned from the OK guys that they had the same great experience with Holimites during the preparation for this , including some complex re-scheduling which was done without difficulties. During the 11-day hike, which Dov and I did on our own (hence the importance of the Holimites' maps!) we stayed in the Rifugios (huts) reserved in advance by Giorgia; these huts vary greatly, but all are comfortable and clean, the management nice and friendly, the dorm rooms have bunk beds, all but two nights we shared a room with other hikers; facilities are always shared. These places are great ways to meet other hiking buddies and create lasting friendships. After 11 days/10 nights we arrived at the end point, the bus stop just outside Belluno, and with one phone call to the Holimite driver we, to our enormous relief!, learned that he was 10 minutes away from picking us up ( we arrived about 30 minutes earlier than planned), with our suitcases that we had left in the care of Holimites during our trek. After completing the entire trek in 11 days without break, we can give the following advice to you: 1. USE HOLIMITES, you cannot go wrong with them!! 2. bring a protein bar for the days (the last several) that the food does not give you enough. 3. pack light, cannot overemphasize this enough; in terms of clothes: wear one and wash one (we brought a travel clothesline and washed our shirts, socks and underwear every day) 4. do not rush through the hike, the Dolomites are so incredibly beautiful, they deserve your time, attention and admiration. 4. do not underestimate the challenge, and bring good hiking poles ( a must!), every day involves significant elevation changes. 5. If your adventure begins in Badia: stay at GranAnder and walk over to meet Giorgia, they will treat you like family!! THANK YOU, HOLIMITES!
